First Timer Long TR w/pics

Here is my long trip report from a first timer. We cannot wait to wear a different color wrist band and we will.

Day 1 - We arrived at BBG around 11 AM. We left our bags in the lobby, changed into our suits and off we went. We quickly found the sexy pool and watched the days events. We met some girls from Minnesota and a football team from England who were a hoot to party with. After a much needed siesta (and channel 12), we headed out to Nice Shoes where we saw a FUN impersonation type show. After that, the dancing began and we met great people who loved to dance.

Day 2 - We were up early, got our chairs by the pool. We met a couple from Philly on their last day. I never did find Diana the day before so I was determined to locate her. Around noon, a gal in a hat came by and I thought it looked like her picture on the website. After a couple beers because I am shy (don’t laugh), I went over and asked if she was Diana. It was and we joined in the hot tub, along with Carol & Blair, Stefan & Terri(us2fun) and a few more Canadians. I was stamped with maple leaves and made an honorary Canadian. Thanks, guys.....I believe in Santa Claus again, eh! I excused myself to the restroom and was pulled into a game in which I had no idea. What I was up for but since I decided that I was going to join right in...life is too short. I needed a partner so we grabbed my hubby and the next thing I knew, I was laying on the concrete, banana down there and my husband had to smash it into me and then eat it. I laughed so hard and afterwards, Tom told me that Alejandra jumped on top of him and was pounding up and down. The winners were determined by applause from the crowd. The Canadians won as they dominate BBG, by far. We stayed too long, took silly pictures (see photos) and missed our usual siesta, crawled into bed at 6 PM after making all kinds of plans with everyone and quickly fell asleep. We ventured out of our room at 12:30 AM to find a cheeseburger. OOPS

Day 3 - We found ourselves playing Smart Ass Trivia. Diana won and the girls each got a lap dance from the guy across from them. An “alcoholic” pissed Omar off so he was thrown off. That left 2 girls for the last guy which was my husband, Tom. Stefan did a great job giving me a dance and I think he would have won had it not been for Tom having 2 girls to dance for plus he did some acrobatic moves to seal the consolation win. Oh, and somehow I got roped into the CAST DANCE (YMCA) and laughed my ass off because I looked silly not knowing what the hell I was doing. Thanks, Diana!!! LOL Later (after sleeping through our Italian dinner plans) we met up with Kathy with a K, Nate Dogg, Cathy with a C, Emily, Stefan and Terri and danced after the Beer Drinking Contest. Oh my, how Blondie can swallow a beer. I was impressed! Dancing was incredible and the British guys can really get down. Andy, Blake, Tippy and the rest....you are awesome!

Day 4 - Much of the same. We sat with our Canadian friends and played Musical Trivia. Tom ended up winning that, too. We met up with everyone later at the bar. Everyone looked so nice because the whole place was going to Coco “Congo” Bongo’s. We were debating since we are not much into clubbing but we were talked into it and WOW, what a place. Thanks, guys. We rode back in the cab with Stefan and Terri. Ya gotta wonder what those guys think of the crazy, drunk tourists. El loco!!

Day 5 - Bad weather day and the need for Theresa to take the day off from drinking. We met up later with our new friends and went dancing in Nice Shoes. Emily & I danced in the cage but once Carol and another gal got into the cage, there was no competing with them. Muy Caliente!

Day 6 - Decided against the Booze Cruise due to no snorkeling. Once my husband heard that and the guide said....more time shopping. He freaked out....he hates to shop. Plus, I was scared of getting seasick because it was extremely choppy. Rob told us later that it was very choppy on the way over. They had a great time with some good stories to share. Next year for sure. We spent a quiet, leisurely day with friends. Tom bought a Mexican blanket from a beach vendor which is beautiful and smells like it came straight off the burro. Several of us went to eat at the Seafood Restaurant. We missed Kathy, as even though it was cloudy, she got too much sun and did not feel well. We retired to the lobby bar where we met some more cool people, including Michael, the Cajun Bajan owner & Jon from Canada.

Day 7 - Emily and Cathy leave. Several of us find a place on the beach (because no one got up to get chairs) and spend the day. I buys some necklaces from a beach vendor. I meet Barkley at the bar. I never did find Catrina and I looked. When we leave for our siesta, Blair is doing his awesome pool dance. We are definitely winding down and although we have had the best vacation ever, it seems that 7 nights is too much. I miss my daughter, my cats, dog, bird, home and sobriety.

Day 8 - We have to leave early so we said goodbye the night before but we missed out on saying goodbye to several people who weren’t around in the evening. We ran into Stefan in the AM and he said they all went to take their siesta’s and never returned. Oh, how I understand.

We met many more people and I know I left them out like Shaun & Pamela but fun was had by all. That seems to be the theme of BBG. We never felt like people were snooty or maybe we just didn’t notice. Many people were not even seen or I didn’t notice them until it was time to go clubbing. The pools were warm, by the way. The front desk personnel were fine and the room was good. Nice trip report. Love the pic of Rob in the "JAWS" suit. All I remember, is as soon as angiebaby and blondie brought that thing to the sexypool, we were laughing our asses of for the rest of the day. Andy (the Brit) took it home, because he was the one that security gave shit to. I don't know if you were still there when everyone was trying it on and changing in the pool instead of the wash room.

Well it sounds like u guys had a good time!!
For our 1st week in December all it did was rain, but by the 2nd week it was gorgeous!!

We almost did not make it home. The plane landed in St. Louis and the ice storm was just beginning and we had to drive right into it. We debated on a hotel but knew we would be iced in for the weekend as the forecast called for the weather to last until Monday. So glad we chanced it because we have been iced in since and it is still sleeting.

Carol.....the suit changing in the pool may have been going on...we stayed late at the pool that day. Tom took alot of pictures that are in the recycling bin. :lol: :lol: Way too many of Blair dancing since he used the button that takes like six shots a second. We basically had a movie of him. LOL

Dno/Sue..We did meet. I introduced myself on your first day, along with Stefan. That's okay...I understand and no, I was not on that bus but I wish I was. They were a hoot.

Kelli - Thanks, you will have an awesome time. The best vacation ever. The pool water was very clean and warm but not too warm. Refreshing...I have been to the Yucatan in January and the pools were much cooler.

Well, it looks as though I am going to miss my first day of the new semester. The ice is accumulating and I live on a gravel road way out in the country. Have a fabulous time and let us know how awesome it was when you get back.

Ok, I remember now but Tom is one that told you about his long lens. He did not bring it out much. Afraid it'd get lost. Many of the pics were from my puny little camera.

Ok, I was officially detoxed until DA BEARS game plus we have been iced in ever since Friday night!!! Go Bear's...beat the Saints!!!

Thanks, we really did have fun and it has been fun keeping in contact with new friends.

Dean, I asked where Chinos was because I had heard so much about him and although I knew he went to an NFL game, I did not realize it was the Seattle. I am sure I was told but ya know how foggy some memories are......I can't say I am sad because I am a diehard Bears & Cubs fan. It is a legacy. It is hard for me to hear someone say, "The Bears or Cubs Suck"! Although, I may dislike a team, I never vocalize it because we all have our favorites and they mean alot to all of us. Their current record speaks for itself. GO BEARS!!!
