| Make sure to get singles before you leave. You will want to tip drinks, meals, maid, and drink guy (fills your fridge in your room). I would say plan to tip about 20 bucks a day. It may be hard to get singles at the resort. So, be sure to go to your bank to get them. A buck or two goes a long way for a hard working staff. |

| We agree with SoCalBeachLovers, A few dollars for the hard working staff really makes a difference. We usually spend $20/$25 per day total. Like they said get some ones and fives from your bank to take with you. After that you won't need any cash unless to go to town for the night, or find a poker game at the resort. |

| just a suggestion...call your bank and let them know you are traveling out of the country. This way if you use your credit card for something, they will not put a hold on it... happened to us once, even after we called the bank. lol |

| Not exactly sure what old money means, but if they can use it they will take it. One thing people always have to remember, the people that work at the resorts make 7 dollars a day. So anything you give them they appreciate, that can even be smokes.

| If the staff is paid low wages like the staff at the resorts in Hawaii then they need all the extra cash that they can get. That is why we always tip the staff when we go to Desire. The great service that we get is a nice side part of our trip. We know that they help us hoping for a larger tip but $5 to us is a beer but to them $5 is 60 mexican dollars. But no matter if you tip or not the staff has always been great to everyone. We look forward to meeting eveyone in five weeks Jim and Deb |

| A cpl other recomendations...... have the international tool free number for your cards... just in case!! We too had to call from Mexico once because our card was suspended, we did find the number after searching online and paying for internet. Next, we LOVE to take $2 bills for our tips. We usually take about $500 in $2's and about $500 in singles so we can mix and match. Mexicans consider the $2 bill good luck, and you will usually find Mexican's like to have one on them at all times, however, they don't see them very often. They are like lucky rabbits feet! |

| We usually get $500 in singles and fives for tipping. Dave agrees with the $20-$25/day, he said that's what we normally spend, too. I wouldn't know because I never have pockets .We joke that the bank must think we're professional strip joint customers based on the number of times a year we get mass amounts of ones.

| Since we don't take tours or go sightseeing anymore, just stay and soak up all the fun times at the resort, we only take about $400. Usually we take 5-$20, 20-$5, and 50-$1. Thanks for the info about the $2 bill, we will have to get a few of them from the bank. Didn't know that anyone considered them good luck. Since the staff works hard to make us happy we would like to make them happy too. If a $2 bill tip makes them happy we are all for it. TTR-Desire Week Sep. 2011 TTr-Desire Week Oct 2011 |
