Default Airport Transfer Time

I've tried to search and I wasn't able to quickly find out how long it will take to get from the airport to TTR with a private transfer. If our flight was landing at 3:45 pm, what is a realistic time to expect to arrive at the resort? (ie getting through customs, getting bags etc. and then the drive) Also how much time would we save by hiring a private transfer vs taking the included airport transfer with Nolitours? We have almost always paid the extra for a private transfer, but we have been burnt before too at other destinations, so any info in regards to Cancun airport to TTR would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

I don't remember how long it took on our shared transfer there, but I can tell you this: The resort is near the end of the strip - farthest from the airport. If you are sharing the ride, there's a really good chance you'll have to stop numerous times before getting to Temptations, and that's where the private transfer speed is really noticed.
We're going with USA Transfers provate shared van this time (4 of us) and expect to save at least 30-45 minutes (considering last time, we had to stop at 3 other resorts to unload passengers before getting to TTR!).

We always use USA Transfers and it takes 5-10 minutes for them to bring a vehicle around once you check in with them. Then another 20 minutes to TTR. We would not do it any other way.

As far as clearing immigration and customs, it varies depending upon how many planes land around the same time. The last few trips we've been through immigration in about 15 minutes. Customs on the other hand has been the bottleneck and can take up to 1/2 hr or more.

We have been at TTR in less than an hour after landing a few times.

Enough said!!!! Think USA Transfers is without a doubt the way to go. I especially like not having to jump on a bus so early on the day of departure. We already have our seats for the return flight, so there is no super rush to get there early in able to sit together either. Thanks for all the info guys, much appreciated.

Yes, you are right about that. When staying at Temptation, USA Transfers is the only way to go. It took us an hour from the time we landed until we were checking in at Temptation.

That's correct.

With shared you'll take the long way round as you drive the entire length of the strip dropping people off at other hotels as you go. With private you'll miss out the strip and take the shortcut through downtown direct to the hotel.

We used the service that will let you charge it to your room at TTR, but I can't remember the name. We paid $83 for round trip private transfer and that was the best way to go, only took about 15 -20 minutes to get to TTR, and that was due to a bit of construction traffic. They were waiting for us outside the airport, and were right on time to pick us up at TTR. We tipped $10 each way because the guys were so nice. I want to say it is Trans something - ugh - I will try to find my confirmation email with their name.

We looked at them also on our last trip. We chose USA Transfers because of the rave reviews on this site and it is in Steve's signature.

Not sure if you get a kick back or not Steve, but the service you provide here... it is well deserved!

I do get a kickback, I make $5 for every transfer sold through my links. Never been shy about being open on that.

The owner of USA Transfers has been a great friend of mine for the last 10 years. Brant is his name and he's originally from Edmonton, Canada. He was, and still is an inspiration to me and is part of the reason cancuncare actually got started.

I know he has the same business ethics as me (unlike many Mexican run companies), and with rave reviews from here and everywhere else you really cant go wrong with them.

Steve, if we had known we would have used USA - I stumbled on to this site too late to do a lot of research (only 2 weeks before we left, and I already booked the transfer the day I booked the trip, two weeks prior - was kind of a whimsical adventure for my husband's birthday, a cool alternative to vegas!) :-( Will keep that in mind next time!

Thumbs up Usa

Temptations Oct. 22nd to 29th Usa Transfers is the only way to go! Of all the friends we met there we had the best transfer time by far! We were in a van in 5 mins and at the hotel in about 20-25 mins. We met some friends that waited at he airport for 25mins and asked "How much longer?" They told him 25 more mins he freaked. They didnt make him wait that long but he said that was not a good start! Also u pay the driver when u get there. Geting picked up he was 8 min early! A+++++++++++++
