You do get some vendors walking the beach, but we would suggest Market 28, it's a flea market on steroids. About a 15.00 cab fare from TTR.

You can grab a bus right outside of the resort that will take you to Market 28. As for steak...go right across the street to Rio Steakhouse. Fantastic food there.

I had a steak at the Italian restaurant at Temptations last year and it was great. You need to make reservations. Try all the specialty restaurants. They are worth taking the time to make reservations.

If you like steak then try the dinner at the Rio across the street. It is amazing and you get to try all kinds of steak and other foods. There is also a market about two blocks away as well as market 28 which is huge and near Walmart.

As for jewelry.. Theresa who has the silver shop in the lobby has as good as prices as Market 28 but the quality is much better.

She's had that shop for over 20 years and if she sold junk, at the hotel with the highest repeaters in all of Cancun, she would have gone out of business long ago.

I think Chris owns half of the store. Anyway, whenever we are there we take folks in to introduce them. Based on the amount you purchase, you can negotiate the prices.

So before you head out, I would suggest you stop by.

As for the other types of souvenirs, I suggest crossing the street and catching the bus into the hotel zone. When the road separates and buildings appear in the middle hit the buzzer and hop off. On the same side of the road that you are on is a big yellow building. I think it’s called the Fiesta Mexican Souvenir Outlet. But you can’t miss it; cause it a big two story bright yellow building. They have everything you could look for at very good prices. You don't get the fun or bartering like you do at Market 28, or the sights and smells of a flea market, but you do get rock bottom prices and can get in and out quickly if that is what you are after. You can always head to Market 28 for the fun once you have the basics of what you need.

Oh... and the Rio is a great place for getting all kinds of different meats in one stop. If you want a fancy romantic steak dinner, but you will pay the price, I suggest the Argentinean Steak House in the hotel zone in the same mall as Coco Bongos.

I have ate steaks at many nice places and this place ranks right up there with the best. The service was also outstanding.
The actually make a awesome Caeser salad from srcatch, dressing and all at your table... We don't eat out often while at TTR but we will be making a trip to this place every time we go to TTR.
