Red face Weddings and Renewals

My hubby and I are doing the renewal of vows on Feb 14th on the beach. Has anyone ever gotten married or done their renewal at TTR? If so, do you mind giving me some tips or info as what to expect and or prepare for? We purchased the TTR weeding package($Expensive$) I have the reservations and I'm in contact with TTR wedding coordinator. But she is very illusive.

Hi, we found the same thing, but as soon as you get there she should be there when you check in and you can discuss everything right after you check into your room. I found when your face to face she is really good and thinks of things you may have not. Appointment for hair, spa etc. Music. Plus during the ceremony she was with the whole time. Well until it was over. We were very happy with everything.
The only thing I would suggest is keep sending her the emails. You should have gotten a check list of what you need to do and what you want her to do.
Good Luck and congrats

Thanks for the info... We'll keep trying.
No list as of yet.
If anyone is available for 30min of Feb 14th at around 3pm stop by for free cake and drinks. We're not bringing any guests so there is plenty of room.

Yes, we are doing the sand ceremony. We're bringing our own sand kit because we got it engraved. Hope it makes it back in one piece.

We got married at ttr Feb 14th 2007. We've been back each year for our anniversary. I'd be more than happy to answer anything you think I could answer. And we would also love to stop by. We too went out with no one but the two of us and the resort and our new found friends made it beautiful.

Wow... Thanks for the reply... Feb 14th. Guess we'll make that a tradition also. We're getting married here in Michigan on February 1st at our local court house. We are having the ceremony at Temptation. Like you, it will just be the two of us.
We would love for you to stop by.
Thanks for lending your experience to us. I'll come up with a few questions and send them your way. Do you have any pictures of the wedding setup that you're willing to share? We are curious as what to expect.
Thanks

It's sad but I never tire of talking about it. We had our legal ceremony there, so can talk about everything! We had the full package so I have a bundle of pictures and I'm more than happy to share them. Is it still Luz Elena as the co ordinator?

Yes, She is still the coordinator. She seems like a very nice person. She's on her iPad all the time. Whenever I get an email or talk to her she's running around doing stuff. She's mobile now. lol

She was really lovely, I went through a lot of what you are, found emails short or unclear but once we were there she came to meet us the morning after we arrived and everything went full steam. I think she prefers in person contact. There isn't anything I could fault once I was there. But it does feel so scary when you're getting ready to leave and you don't know if you can have the flowers you want, or what the photographer will do. It does come together though. Once I'm back at the main computer tmw I'll email you some of our pictures so you can see the set upon the beach x

That would be great....
I'm very excited to see your pictures. You seriously relieved some stress with your experience that things got better and smoother once you touch ground at Temptation.

Hello!

Could you share how much the renewal package costs?
It sounds interesting

We looked in to renewing vows during our trip in a few days and found the TTR cost very high compared to other resorts. We were going to stay at Sun Palace or Dreams to do the renewal there, and they both had really nice packages with more perks than TTR with a cost of around $500. They waived the entire cost if you were booked 5 nights in club or concierge level rooms.

When I got the info from Luz about the package, I told her I was surprised at how expensive it was comparatively, especially when some of what they give you are things you get already just for staying there. Also the room 'upgrade' was actually a downgrade from what we booked, but they offered nothing in exchange. My suggestion was to consider doing what the other resorts do with waiving all or part of the cost with a 5+ night stay in a premium room (like the temptation suite or jacuzzi suite). I never heard back from her about trying to work with us.

I am sure the ceremony on the beach is lovely, it is just very expensive comparatively. We decided not to do it with TTR. Our trip is celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary and while we are there we may figure out another way to renew vows.

Let me give you another comparison. We could do a vow renewal in SoCal on a private yacht with a champagne and steak/lobster dinner, and spend the night on the boat for $800. We looked into that for our wedding. I told that to Luz as well, just trying to offer some perspective. Her reaction was similar to what we got with our previous Drops of Love fiasco with them, they attach a much larger value to some things they do than what is realistic and then don't understand some other things they should be doing that actually DO have a high value (room service, a real butler service, private dinners). For what they charge for a vow renewal, they should at least give the couple drops of love. The wedding package didn't even have a private beach/room dinner or the romantic aromatherapy bath.

I would suggest you look at what other resorts offer in Cancun for vow renewal and ask Luz to throw in drops of love. If more people say this stuff then maybe she will listen. You should get a lot more for what they are charging you!

I was actually looking at the Vow Renewal for us, its our 20th, and as you said you don't get much for the $820 us dollars. If there were more perks or if it were not as pricey we would love to do it, I think we will wait unitl our 25 and renew in Hawaii or on a cruise ship unless TTR comes up with a better plan.

I hope the Stewarts have a great ceremony and an awesome time! Every year together is a year to celebrate!

Everything is bought and paid for. I hope things go great. Not to worried about the cost per say, just want it to be a great week. We supplemented the lack of things you get for the cost at TTR with some trips and an awesome dolphin swim. I'll make sure to create an album with pictures and put a link on here for all to see. Our own package ;-)
I will make some suggestions to Luz for the good of future guests. ;-)

Yup life is too short to waste time sweating the small stuff. As long as you are happy with what you get then that's all that matters.

I really don't think you have anything to worry about, We feel the memories out weigh the cost. It was worth it to us.

We arrive that day, but would be happy honored to attend if the timing works out. How should we dress? We overlap a number of days together - We look forward to meeting you both.

I've sent you some pictures this afternoon. Peter is asking have you got a photographer set up? If not we'd be happy to take some for you. It's purely a hobby of his but I must admit (being his subject for alot of them) he takes good pictures.

Thank you! We would love for Peter to take pictures. We currently don't have any wedding photos because we got married at the court house. We are using this vacation to help supplement our lack of pictures. We did get a photographer but we're kind of nervous because they only provide 40 pictures and the package document given says they provide the film or negatives. Do they use a digital camera?

You're pictures are so beautiful!!! I love your dress and the location on the beach is awesome. You guys look so happy....
