Anyone know if there is any place to find some waves near TTR? We are pretty mellow longboard surfers, so we're not looking for Maverick's or anything, but a chill place to rent some boards or SUP boards and ride a few waves would be nice.

You might find some waves on the side of the 7 i.e. ocean side depending on the weather, nothing on the bay side. There's a place called Surfin' Burrito which is a kind of surf shack that sells Burritos and offering surf lessons, not sure if they do board hire but might be worth looking into. They are opposite Senor Frogs.

R & J i'd be interested in a follow-up to this, I'm sure there's waves but the quality is what I'm curious about- it's probably wind swell. thanks

Hopefully we will be able to find something. We'll be sure to report back if we do. I'm sure its pretty small, but we surfed the Texas gulf coast for years, so we can't be too picky after those muddy ripples!

Bumping our old thread... We found this place: http://www.360surfschoolcancun.com/index.html We are going to check it out, and maybe try one of the SUP tours. Sounds pretty cool if we can see some sights and get some waves in!

Deff let us know how it was. I was wondering about surfing out there and if there are some decent waves in a good area I would go.
