Belated April 28th

**** LONG TRIP REPORT ****

We met Dave and Rhonda at the Atlanta Airport Saturday morning and took a non-stop flight to Cancun. After some fun with the Apple transport we made it to BBG, checked in, dropped off our bags and changed, and went to the sexy pool, where we ran into Shannon and Zack. Bob and Nancy already had beach chairs. After a while Jimmy came by, too, and the party was on.

That night we went to Nice Shoes, which had a live band. There weren't as many people there as I remembered, maybe 30 or 40. The drinks were good, and I think Rhonda was in the cage a time or two. We stayed there for a while, there went back to the room for some Channel 12 and some well-needed sleep.

Sunday morning started with Channel 12 at 5:30 in the morning. After that we went back to sleep, then got up and went to the Sexy Pool, where we laid around a lot of the day. Rhonda actually got Tammy to take off her top for a while. I think that's the day that Rhonda introduced herself to Roy and his wife Karen. Roy is an Elvis impersonator from Lousiana that comes to BBG often. I'm glad she did, they're good people. They ended up spending time with our group. That afternoon we hung out in the Magarita open-bar area talking to friends. Rhonda introduced us to her friend Matt from the Northwest. We got a group of us to go to Pericos, a great restaurant which is a real experience. The conga line going through the entire restaurant, then outside, then back in to get a shot of tequila, was great fun. Back at the hotel, it was more Channel 12 as we called it an early night.

Monday we went on another of Steve's wonderful Booze Cruises. Out on that beautiful ocean, drinking rum and cokes, enjoying the sea breeze and good companionship, what could be better? The group included Steve, Jannet , Danielle, Dave, Rhonda, Harry, Bob, Nancy, Zack, Shannon, Rob, Donna, Kristine, Jimmy, Matt and many more. We stopped to let some of the group snorkle, then went on to Isla Mujeres. We didn't do the bathing suit changing contest that we did last year; I missed that. We did the golf carts, but the cart that Tammy and Zack and Shannon and I were given had a transmission problem, so we kept falling behind, which was kind of a drag. Still, all in all, the trip was excellent, and we'll do it again next year. Back at the hotel that night, more Channel 12.

I think Tuesday was the day that Dave and Lanie, Zack and Shannon, and Tammy and I went to Margaritaville for lunch and then explored the mall there. Margaritaville was about the same as it is in the States, with comparable prices. The mall was a little pricey.

Later that afternoon Zack, Shannon, Tammy and I went to Market 28, a huge collection of shops, some inside and some outside. Shannon had great fun bargaining with all the vendors. That night was the Beach Party, where Elvis performed for a few songs. Dave and Rhonda and Zack and Shannon were there. After that Tammy and I went back to the room for Channel 12.

Wednesday was deep-sea fishing with Jimmy, Matt and Rob. I wasn't going to go, but who can say No to Jimmy? I'm glad I went; I caught the biggest fish, a 20 pound tuna. Jimmy caught a barracuda and a red snapper, while Rob and Matt each caught a Mahi Mahi. The trip was about five hours total. We had the Captain fillet the Mahi Mahi, and the cooks at the buffet restaurant cooked it for the fishermen and their significant others that night. That was a gourmet meal.

Wednesday night at Nice Shoes was the Latin Heat show, which was interesting, better than Dancing with the Stars. Tammy and I were tired, and went back to our room for some sweet dreams.

The Talent Contest was held Thursday at the Sexy Pool. Harry led off with a poem about some little boy that was going to beat up Santa for not giving him good gifts. Then there was a topless blonde woman in a cowboy hat. I think she danced. Elvis (Roy) was next, singing some old standards, shaking and crooning for his audience. He had Tammy and Rhonda swooning. Karen was next. She had a costume cat taill attached to her bathing suit. She sang the Pussycat song. You know, every verse had a different kind of pussy: hot, wet, tight, bald, etc. It was a big hit with the crowd. Karen won the contest!

Thursday for supper we went across the street to the Riu, a Brazilian Steak House. The waiters come to your table and slice off different kinds of meat, including all kinds of steaks. It's only about $35 a piece for the entree, but with appetisers, drinks and a tip it came out to about $100. which I thought was a little pricey. Particularly considering we never went to any of our alloted three specialty restaurants there at the Resort.

After that we were in the Margarita Bar area for a while, where we met Matt's friend, Michelle. We have some shots of her and Dave and Rhonda laying on one of the outside beds there. Later on at Nice Shoes was Casino Night. Last year we didn't know about it so we didn't bring night-clothes. If you want to play you have to be wearing PJs, lingerie or some kind of night clothes. This year I had a pair of boxers that said, Breathlyzer Test, with "Blow Here" vertically down the fly. Tammy had a camisole and some silk short night pants.

There were about five different gambling tables. You got $50 in chips for PJs, $75 for the topless women, and $100 for totally nude. The first table we played wasn't a lot of fun, so we moved to Chino's table. I think it's Chino, the guy with all the facial piercings. He was a blast. Tammy took off her top and got more chips. When she ran out of chips she was going to leave the table, and Chino threw more chips at her to make her stay. "Boobies!" he said.

At the end of the gambling I had the most "money" of anybody there that I knew of, $800. The "money" was used to bid on various items. The last item was a Senor Frog's t-shirt. Tammy bid on it with my $800 and won the t-shirt.

Next was the contest for the best costume. Two of the young guys were wearing just socks, and several others had interesting nightwear. One of the sock guys with lots of tattoos was the final winner. After that Tammy and I took our drunk and exhausted selves back to the room.

Friday was more time by the pool, and then the Night Booze Cruise, run by Sergio. Cancun in the harbor at night is awesome. Lots of drinking, and some contests. We docked and took a bus over to Carlos n Charlies. The place looks like a 24 hour party. We ate, and drank, played with the baloon animals shaped like certain portions of anatomy, and some of the group -- okay, Michelle and Rhonda -- danced on the bar.

More Channel 12 that night in the room, then some Channel 12 when we got up Saturday morning. We were sad to be leaving. We went by the pool, said goodbye to all our friends, then back to the room to pack. Tammy and I caught the Apple transport back to the airport with Dave and Rhonda.

It was great to see our old friends including Dave and Rhonda, Jimmy, Rob and Donna, Bob and Nancy, and others. We enjoyed meeting new friends including Zack and Shannon, Dave and Lanie, Matt and Michelle, and others. Sorry for anybody I've left out.

All in all it was an awesome vacation, and I can hardly wait until we see everybody at BBG again next year!

Great TR and pics. I cant wait for my first experience at BBG for our honeymoon. Reading all the TRs and seeing the pics is making the wait of almost one more year hard to go through.

GReat trip report Harold..If I could remember anything I would write one but there are days and nights that are very hazy!! LOL All and all we had a awesome trip I will have to say! It was great to meet all the people that we had been talking to on the board...I think there were several people that didn't know what to think about me,however they didn't try very hard to get to know me and see what they thought!! OH well their loss!!LOL Hey Harold you know my addy and my email addy, don't forget to send me a cd of all your pics. Rob was going to send me some but his burner is not working! Now we need to plan our weekend trip to Vegas!!!I talked to Matthew and he is ready, I might be ready around the end of July or August

We will be in San Antonio from July 31st till August 5th.... So we couldnt make it then...Maybe later in the month or the beginning os september... Just let us know. We were there in August of 05 when we got married and stayed at the Imperial Palace.
