See this is why we are going to BBG. Yes we are "30" somethings that like to get crazy and have a good time.....but.....we also were a bit weary of Cancun because of all the "kids" and spring breakers.I loved Jayme's response about the resort. It is his comments along with so many others that makes me reassured that we are making a great decision by going to BBG at the end of April. Thanks for all the great comments, suggestions and stories!

A few revisions need to be made to the info above:

The Bella Vista Steakhouse is no more. It is now a Seafood Restaurant.
And BBG now offers rooms service for both lunch and dinner but to Premiere Club Members Only.

The menu is somewhat limited and is the same each day with a choice of 3 entrees for each meal.

You order is delivered to your room within 30 minutes of placing the order.

Do they serve steak in the seafood restaurant? :? I'm bummed, I never got to eat in the Steakhouse. Katie and I don't like seafood. :x

Sparkey,

I didn't check out the menu so I can't answer that question.

Sorry!

We were at BBG 3/12-3/19 and ate at the seafood resturant, they do not offer steak, I am not a huge seafood person ie shrimp, lobster, but the fish with the basil sauce was to die for it literaly melted in my mouth. Mike had the Lobster and said that it was great. I don't think what mike had was on the standard menu we went through RCI and I belive he got it that way

I didn't see lobster on the regular menu. Must have been on the Premier (gold band) menu. Still a great meal though.

Although Lobster is only on the Premiere Club Menu in the Bellavista Seafood Restaurant, it is possible for someone without the "gold bracelet" signifying Premiere status to have the lobster dinner.

It costs $40USD per person.

Maybe you could change the title to the post to "BBG 101", just kidding great title.

I am one of those people that it does not take much to make me happy and it sounds like it would a great place.
Mikey,
I'm in the same position. We'll be going July 31-Aug 5th. I'm already hooked. When are you going?

Default Blue Bay Getaway

My wife and I will be there April 4-12 and wonder what numbered rooms are the away from the loud music and superior rooms with ocean views? Thank you for your time. Bob

I totally agree, Mike.

I think I've been to Cancun about as many times as you...and this January trip is number 44 at BBG.

I wouldn't even think of going anywhere else!!!

See you there....

Great stuff Michelle, thanks!

What would you say the singles to couples ratio is at any given time at BBG?

:?

I think that's a tough one to answer.

I don't really think there's an answer to that question except to say that I don't think it matters.

Couple and singles all tend to mix and mingle. It's the one place I have been to where everyone just hangs out in groups.

So I guess what I am saying is that it's usually a good mix of both.

I agree with Karan on that.....it's somewhat difficult to answer that type of question. There are lots of single people and lots of couples....more couples though.

But what you will find is that couples don't just keep to themselves at BBG, they mix an mingle like the single folks do. Then after a few days, everyone sorta has this group they hang with....

I know this sounds pretty bizzare to anyone who's never been to BBG, but that's really how things work there. The repeaters are not shy folks...they see someone sitting alone or someone with a blue band on, they go strike up a conversation.

A repeater simply doesn't care about anything other than having fun an making sure those around them are having fun.....it's contagious!!

This basically answers it..."a good mix of both". My fear is being in a "Couples" resort atmosphere...

Thanks,

Another good answer, "There are lots of single people and lots of couples....more couples though."

I am looking forward to meeting couples & singles alike.

Thanks,

There are alot of couples there, but you won't have any trouble hooking up with singles if that is your plan.

My only problem (if you can call it that) last May was trying to find time for myself (I go solo) since I was being introduced to more people that I could remember, I now remember more names to faces (I hope ).

For some reason that I am still trying to figure out, a lot of people wanted to meet me

As long as you are friendly and if you happen to go when a lot of the fellow CancunCare members are there you shouldn't have a problem meeting alot of people.

Your welcome....

No..it's not a adults only swingers club. Not even close! Be very careful where you get your information...lotta folks out there talkin bout BBG an have NEVER, EVER set foot on the property.

Feel free to do a search here for the word "swinger" and you will find a ton of threads on the topic...it comes up almost monthly.

That's exactly what happened to us! We booked (the travel agent herself had been and said it was fab), then I searched the net and found Tripadvisor.com  Wish I'd have found this site first, cos all the trip reports on there that I saw were complete ballbags. Cancuncare rules!

by all means....cop a squat on a swing at Diego's Bar an go for a BBG record! I think the best I've seen is a woman who started swingin, then her "friend" came up behind her, pushed the swing so hard she went flying into the bar...scooted across it & landed with her legs wrapped around one of the new bartenders. THAT was somethin that shudda been on tape!!!
