|  Friday 22nd June 2007 Cancuncare Booze Cruise (completed) Friday 22nd June 2007 Cancuncare BBG crew - Day Trip to Isla Mujeres      Included in the day out is - reef tax (normally payable extra on other similar tours) - snorkel over the reef (equipment provided) - open bar on the boat all day - lunch on the island includes open bar for lunch (open bar for lunch is not included on other similar tours) - shopping in Isla town (optional) - golf cart convoy tour of the island (optional and extra charge of $15 per golf cart - each cart holds 4 people - subject to availability) - spinnaker rides (weather permitting - at own risk!) - adult themed entertainment, silly games, prizes etc (not included on other similar tours) - no kids (not guaranteed on other similar tours) - with one exception - there may be a possibility we bring our daughter along dependant on childcare arrangements We have a choice of different catamarans to use. The actual boat will be determined a few days in advance and will be based on the number of people who sign up. Price will be $55 per person or 600 pesos (peso rate may change dependant on exchange rate at the time). Meet at 9.15 am at the front of the hotel, for 5 minute free transport to departure point at Playa Tortugas (Fat Tuesday dock) 9:30am ish returning about 5:30pm. Boat drops people off at Blue Bay We need around 25 people for a private hire, I'd prefer to go ahead with more though (given the usual no show rate). Cash only, payable on the day. This is open to anyone who posts on cancuncare and their group. Also, please feel free to invite friends you may meet once at Blue Bay. You do not need to be staying at BBG to join us, but this cruise is adults (18+) only and you should not be offended by toplessness or mild adult sillyness. | We just spoke to the boat company tonight, mainly because we wanted to try and negotiate a lower minimum capacity for private hire of our regular boat. Our booze cruise numbers pretty much follow occupancy rates at BBG which means they are always lower the last six months of the year. However, because at the moment it's a busy time of year (not necessarily at BBG but for families and Mexican tourists) they now require a minimum of 30 for a private charter, not the 25 I was counting on before. Looking at the roll call I'd place my bet on having 15 -20 names for the 22nd. What I propose is: We still use our regular boat and crew but have maybe 10 or 15 others join us. We can still ensure there wont be any kids (except my daughter!). Providing we are in the majority, it will be our (improved) itinerary on the day not the regular one. We will have to have our games on the beach only instead of on the boat too, and we may have to forfeit the open bar for lunch (in which case the price will drop by $5) but other than that it will be the same as above, but with some non BBG adults coming along too. I honestly dont think it will make that much difference, but I wanted to let people know in advance in case it influences their decision. of course, if we do get 30 names then we'll go ahead with our normal exclusive cruise. |

| That looks like sooo much fun but we probably will have to opt out on the booze cruise. I am overly sensitive to motion sickness and it would not be a pretty sight :chuck: I even get sick on the big cruise ships and so we stick to resorts on land for vacations. |

| Thanx..our anniversary is (was) the 10th and he works away....so we will truly celebrate it at BBG...we always wanted to do the cruise...but I get really "wasted" my first day!! Tony says I'm a quarter horse...fast out the gate...but only good for one round! Looking forward to his challenge!! Jan

A couple of tips: - Bring along a beach towel to sit on, the deck is quite hard. - Bring lots of sunscreen, the sun is phenomenally hot at the moment and being on the ocean it will be easy to burn. |
