Roy and Marie's Tr and Pics : Cancun

Sunday 17th
Up at 3am out of house by 3:30am
Arrive airport no problems ( other than getting in wrong line ) at airport Arrive Cancun no problems @ Airport ( greenlight )

Finally get to BBG ( after 3 stops ) and waiting in the lobby w/drunken monkeys are Uncle Jerry and Aunt Jean

now that's a way to start a vacation

We go check in and we get the same room that we got last year ( good room ) Got drunk 2 or 3 times talked and laughed till we were blue in the face and by 11:30 pm we were wiped out.

Monday 18th - 24th
We met so many more people from the forum this time than last year it made it that much more enjoyable. Tuesday night we went out to Sr. Frogs with W&K ( Wade & Karen) and Beau and Kim it was such a blast and the six of us in one taxi w/driver what a site to see. Finally got
in room 3:30 am. Everyday was a new experience and a new friendship. On i think it was Wednesday night Jerry and Jean invited us to the Chinese rest. where they announced they were celebrating thier 36th wedding anniversary !! It was an honor to celebrate w/them and the meal was wonderful.
We got Omar to annouce Ronald and Talina's honeymoon.(it took him 10min to pronounce her name right) On Thurs. we said our sad good-bye to Jerry and Jean. The rest of the day we hung out at the sexy pool met all the new crowd and watched the belly-flop contest (ouch)
On Friday we went on the Booze cruise w/Steve and his lovely family . It was so nice to meet them. The boat ppl. didn't give us a private boat as they promised which was a bummer, but, they did give us an open bar on the Island and a ride from Fat Tuesdays to BBG. We kept it
calm on the cruise out of respect for the other ppl. and the golf cart tour was a blast. Any tour that has a beer stop on the way is a great tour. We heard that while we were gone on the booze cruise that Bob and Valerie got in on a game where they had to have phone sex Valerie still wouldn't tell us what she said in reply to what Bob said (Valerie everyone wants to know )
On Sat. we hung out at the pool and had a blast except for having to say good-bye to W&K and then that night having to say bye to our friends.
To all our friends we met from the forum Jerry & Jean , Scott & Merideth , Rick , Wade & Karen, Ronald & Talina , Bob & Valerie , thier friends Josh & Laura , Craig & Emmy , Don & Shell , Tony & Jan , Howard & Teresa , Melony Thank You for such a great vacation.

It was great to finally get to meet the two of you and to meet Armymom. I do wish we would have gotten to spent more time together and you guys would have had a great time on the booze cruise , the other side of the Island is beautiful.

nice to meet you and glad you had a good time at BBG and on the cruise.

Re the cruise, I mentioned on the board when we were fixing it up that due to the numbers it was unlikely we would be able to get a private hire (see detail below)

The night before when we were confirming numbers with the company I thought they had said they were giving us a private after all, despite not meeting occupancy levels... and that's what I said when we met in the morning. That turned out to be miscommunication between me and Jannet though and they hadn't promised us that at all. The minimum occupancy of 30 for private still stood (I think we had 23 on the day) and we had about 15 others join us, however, we did do our itinerary and use "our" crew rather than the regular.

Sorry to labour the point, just wanted people to realise that I didn't promise one thing and then deliver another.

Anyhow, hope to see you again next time.

I must appologize to you Steve , I didn't intend for it to sound like you had promised one thing then do another , you gave us everything you had promised . I thought that the ppl. from the boat had done you wrong when you told us that morning that we would get a private boat and then didn't . We really enjoyed ourselves and if given the chance would definately do it again . I would always recommend your booze cruise and do appreciate you getting one together on such a short notice . I think that all 23 of us had a great time.

Yes I think we did N.C. proud, sometime loud and proud , sometimes a little wobbly ,but it was a great time.

Yes, we are still planning on May '08 might just be a long weekend 'cause Marie still wants to go back in June.

Roy and Marie- Yes 5 days (4 drinking days) was plenty enough time to get drunk. I think we did ok drinking except for sat. night when we could have drunk water by the gallon!
We want to spend more time next year. We just enjoyed it that much, as long as there are people like all of you there

Two Trips

Our dates aren"t firm yet but we will be there for sure on the 21st of May ( our 25th anniversary) we normally try to wrap our stay around the Memorial day weekend. This year we flew home on Memorial day

Thanks so much for sharing the pics! I'm too shy ops: to repeat what I said in the bonus question and I would probably dissappoint you anyway! Its probably better to wonder! We hope to see you again there sometime in the future. We probably won't go until mid-June though again next year because I need to wait until our kids are out of school.
