"cancuncare goes to cabo" april 16-24 2011 (tentative dates)

okay i know this is a tad bit premature (hate using the word lol) but people need to plan things out (especially those of us with kids, and mean spirited ex's)

now

while tonya and i have loved our visits to cancun ttr (7 in all) we figured we wanted to try something a little bit different this coming year so we have decided to do temptation in cabo (formerly desire)

we have not booked anything yet but there are already 6 of us that are "IN" and i am expecting that number to grow to between 30 and 50 before our trip in april. we would love to do a full force cancuncare style trip to cabo and are looking for as many of our saggy bottom bunch friends and cancuncare friends to join us

we have set tentative dates as april 16-24 2011

we are very excited about this for a number of reasons and for those debating on ttr cancun and tt cabo this april - here are some things to consider as you plan your trip in 2011

whatever you decide we wish you the best - but we will have a better time i assure you of that

quick check list as to why we will have a better time

(1) at temptation cabo - there is no push to get people to leave the resort - in fact there is no push at all to get people to leave the resort at night as they dont even do that in cabo - so for those of us who believe an AI should in fact be an AI- this will be a welcome change. after the shows each night pretty much everyone hangs out at the resort in the heated pool/hot tub drinking socializing and im sure will have some creative them nights as well

(2) at temptation cabo - the hot tub/pool stays open til late night (some say 3 a.m. other say 4:00 a.m). so we can have our party's in the hot tub til the wee hours while those in cancun hang out at patty o's

(3) at temptation cabo you dont have to worry about food reservations at specialty rest.................and from all i hear the food is even better in cabo

(4) at temptation cabo the price is right as well (basically the same as ttr cancun)

(5) at temptation cabo they only have about 15 days of clouds per year and the humidity is nothing like cancun so chances are the weather is not going to be too much a problem on your vacation (temperature in april runs from about 58 - 86 and with 350 days of sun per year - it looks pretty bright

(6) at temptation cabo its not as crowded and this means more quality time with the people you want to be with - it also means you dont have to worry about getting a chair at the pool as everyone says this is not an issue

(7) at temptation cabo - the airport is very near and its not nearly the hassle of the cancun airport

(8) at temptation cabo we are all getting a new vacation experience as none of us have been to ttr so we can all enjoy it first hand together. will be nice to do something different too

(9) at temptation cabo we can try some different nightlife if we like as the nightlife there is much different than cancun - cabo wabo and el quid roe are two great clubs and while they are some distance away (30 to 45 minute drive) we could all chip in and get a bus one night and do a party bus of our own

(10) at temptation cabo i am less than an hour from one of my all time favorite places to eat (ediths in cabo san lucas)

will get the dates tightened up in the next few weeks so if your interested in doing what stephan is calling "operation cabo invasion" then chime in and join us as we all plan together a great, truly original time for next april

i know this all happened kinda fast and i have not even told T the dates yet lol

but she will be happy im sure

she has loved our trips to cancun but she is really wanting to do something a touch different this year - same adult fun - just a different setting

i pretty much just let the cat out of the bag via email to our cacnuncare friends (those we have met on previous trips and i can still remember their emails) and to ort local saggy bottom bunch friends (many of whom become cancuncare friends)

ill send out another to our cancuncare friend list on our cacnuncare page as well via pm

stepan completely agree with you as to who makes it or who does not

dont mean to sound arrogant at all but the truth of the matter is we always have a blast wherever we are - if it is 4 of us or 40 it really does not matter

while i do hope we end up with a nice sized group, T was quick to point out that it is very hard to spend quality time with everyone in a large group setting like ttr cancun

i mean

it was saturday night at midnight in cancun before we got to spend any quality time with craig and ginny ------------simply because we were enjoying our fun with others too

we also really enjoyed meeting ron/melissa and paul/liz glenn/monique glenn/susan joe/fran the robs, smooth and many many more - but again not much quality time

were able to spend more time with james and lee but it still was not enough

so

we are certatinly going to to add more days to our trip

while there is a lot to be said about big groups - really enjoy the intimate groups just as much

i will be happy either way

I think you guys will enjoy Cabo for all the reasons Rob said....I know if we can't make it to Desire, Temptations Cabo is our next best choice. Weather will be perfect in April. The rooftop hot tub is an awesome party place!

Lol Rob wonder if I have a saggy bottom.............I look through my legs and what do I see. Nothing absolutely Nothing. I will take the sunglasses off now. hahahaha.

Hot tub was only open until about 9:00 pm when we were there but that may have changed as they had many complaints. Also bring a sweater and pants it's chilly there at night. Have fun.

Brewster,
It can be a little chilly...in the 60's at night. They have nice fire pits they light up when it gets cool...they look nice and provide some warmth.

it is definitely open til very late which should make for much more fun from all i am hearing it is a total blast with a great view

also the hot tub and swimming pool are heated and they still do the activities there - so if we had a large enough group we could run the activities as well

i think in april it is a touch cooler at night than in cancun but you lose a lot of the humidity there as well so its a nice trade off in my opinion

will include a deep sea fishing trip one day fer sho as i love to fish and after i sold my boat - i dont get to go enough any more so stephan and i are certainly going to do this one day with any others that may be interested

will also do a party bus/van excursion to cabo/wabo el quid roe one night (will charter a bus if we have enough - if not wil take a van)

will plan a ton of stuff and people can do as a little or as much as they like

agree guys that is why (i know this is very early) i wanted to go ahead and get it out early and say "hey lets get this together and do something different for a change"

doing it this early allows people plenty of time to get their ducks in a row and join us and if they dont...........will know that they cant say "we did not know in time"

i always liked the vibe there more than cancun

its hard to put a finger on it but i guess you could say for lack of a better term its less commerical?

t and i have been debating on going for the last few trips and she is basically telling me "rob lets go to cabo this year and mix it up" it is not like we have to do it every year from this point forward ---------- but a change might be nice -

after 7 trips to cancun ------- its worth at least a shot

btw - up until this week we were just going to go to the riu there as i have been there before and i am familiar with the place

but

after this week im convinced that ttr cabos is worth a go

BINGO! it is much more a smaller town feel...less hustle & bustle and more low key...although it can get wild at time (Squid roe @ 3am)...lol

We have gone to Cabo 2-3 times a year for the last 15 years....we love the vibe of that place! Are you guys open to new members joining your group?
You sound like a fun bunch. We have a group that we go to Desire with every year on New Years....... Makes it more fun with a group.

Yep, this is the upstairs Hot Tub, seating areas all the way around, plus stools at the bar, we were up here until 2:30 one night and were not the last to leave. Hot tub was super hot...as in temperature...well...anyway, another story, another day...anyway, we have a tub at home we keep at 104F and this was hotter than that



Man!!! How's a middle aged balding guy with a gut like that, get a hot chick like her.

Im not a big fan of changes either, hence the reason ive been going to cancun for over a decade, but ive always wanted to see cabo and im the type of guy that an abandoned parking lot would be a blast if i had a 12 pack and some friends....So Im doing the 75/25 lean towards Cabo.....I agree with ya Rob, the few downfalls for Temptations is that its soo big and you either have to stay up until 5am to hang out with everyone or constantly run back and forth from sexy pool to quiet pool as some people like the quiet side....so im thinking with a bit smaller place, you could really have fun with the group.... I also agree that the one downfall Ive always said about cancun is thats its so commercialized, having never been to cabo, i cant say for sure but ive heard its more authentic....So I am hoping we can grab a majority from our april bunch as it would make my decision a lot easier..... cuz ive been wanting to meet the may group also, putting them together would be definately be an invasion on that city

scenery change isnt a bad thing.....I like the thing that will stay the same and thats all you fantastic people.....Im up for it and Lee will im sure be down as well......we could make any resort the place to be so count these two crazy canucks in !!!!!!!!!!!!!! especially if we get a wackload of us we could own the resort for the week!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are going again in April as well next year, but not sure we want a big group thinking they can take over the place ha ha ha.

This place sucks, food is terrible, drinks are watered down, entertainment staff isnt good, weather will most likely be rainy, at night you need your winter coat, you better stay away, far away.
