We'll be at the Beach Palace March 4.......It just sounds great. I can't wait!!!!!!!!!
Having a great time here!!! Only a day and a half left. Something that I forgot to mention earlier....palm trees. When I was at the Cancun Palace in October, the pool area had no palm trees. This pool layout is sort of similar, but they have about 20 large tree pots all around the pool with small palm trees planted in them. To me, that makes it really feel like a Caribbean vacation. The beach has eroded quite a bit since we arrived. The Beach Palace's beach is down to about 10 feet, and most everyone who wants to go in the ocean enters the water behind the Melia. Their beach is very nice and is over 75 feet long.
You are living the dream! Palms, pool, Caribbean...
Have you had time to make it down to the Cancun Palace? I guess their beach is??? I hope that they will add palms also.
Enjoy your remaining time in Cancun; and thanks for everything that you've shared.
Looking forward to your photos.
So glad to hear that you are having a great time. It is soooo cold here in Michigan. I would give anything to be there right now. Lucky dog!!! WOOF WOOF Do you think that the Cancun Palace is a better choice for teenagers?
I would say that teenagers would be equally happy at the Beach Palace. There were many younger people at the hotel and they seemed to be having just as much fun as anyone else.
Man, it really stinks to be back at home.
I have a bunch of really beautiful pictures. I will try to get them posted up later this week. If any of you need/want them earlier, feel free to send me a message and I'll email them to you.
AWWWW poor baby is back home?!?!?! That must really be hard to handle. I know that feeling all to well. It is even harder when you come back to COLD weather. Hang in there, I am sure you will be heading back down soon enough!!
Did they have a band at the Beach Palace also?
If so, how was it?
I am a baby!!!!! This 11 degree weather stinks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I did not see a live band.
Where are those Pics???? HUH???
OK Ella. I didn't think anyone was interested in photos so I haven't taken the time to do it. I'll crack open a Sol with a lime and start working on it.
OK, here are some photos of the Beach Palace. They were taken Feb. 9-16, 2008. Enjoy!!!
You aren't kidding! Those are some of the most beautiful pictures I have ever seen. The first couple were so vivid, they almost looked like artwork.
What kind of camera do you have?? If you don't mind me asking.
Hey Ella. Thanks. I have a Canon Cybershot 7.2 MP camera. I highly recommend it. I agree, the first two are really cool pictures. Seeing them, how could you not want to go right to the airport and fly down?
Great pictures!!!! Where is the activity area of the pool (VB, other games)?
wow.. beach really is all gone!
(I'm staying at the neighboring Avalon Grand in 2 weeks)
wonderful pictures though Dave!
Thanks for the nice words about the pictures. The activities area is in the middle of the pool. Every day we played water basketball and water polo. One very important note...SERIOUSLY....get water socks if you are going to play sports in the Beach Palace pool. The pool floor is very rough. I lost the skin on the bottom of my feet because I was playing intensely. Several people had the same issue.
Thanks for the info.....my husband loves joining in on all of the activities. Volleyball is the high point of his trip evertime.
Just make sure he has aqua socks!
great pics for sure. is that a kiddy pool that's shaped like the old palace emblem? and is that a bar? (referring to the pic from high above - the area in the upper right)
looking forward to seeing it all in april. thanks for keeping us all informed!!!!
Hey Lisa! Yes, that is the shallow kiddy pool in upper right hand part of that picture. It is shaped like a star. The building next to that pool is the kids club. The swim up bar is in the opposite corner.
When you were staying at the Beach Palace, did they have nightly shows like the Cancun Palace had?
I am just trying to figure out what hotel we should stay at. Seeing you have stayed at both - which one did you prefer?
Let me just tell you who all will be going, My daughter, her friend, my mom, and I. My daughter and friend are 16 and
they are active. They liked the shows at the Cancun Palace and the activities. We liked the games that they played in the lobby bar also.
So I am just wondering what the activities are like at the Beach Palace?????
Oh yeah, what did the beach look like at the Cancun Palace? I wonder if they have the beach snack bar opened back up.
Ok, enough questions for now. Thanks DaveT my whole vacation is riding on your shoulders. lol
