It had to happen sooner or later, not sure whether I am happy or not but a new English themed bar / restaurant will be opening in Cancun.

The place will be called The George and Dragon and is on the site of the old Bar Del Mar (opposite from Senor Frogs), projected opening is 'before Spring Break'.

I am sure I will be one of the first to check out this new place in search of my favourite food and will post a report as soon as I have done so.

On a related note, yesterday I drove past the new Hooters restaurant. They are now working on the interior decoration and look like they will be open pretty soon.

    WooHooo for Hooters!!!

    Lookin forward to that opening....

Might havta pass on the English themed bar/restuarant tho...can't imagine the food tasting authentic unless they import everything like the US franchise places do......

Please let us know what you think tho once you try it.

They are a great place to hang out after work :claphappy: . Drinks are good :D but don't recall eating at one of them?

I know you will enjoy it hopefully it will be very traditional for you.

Dunno if it's some sorta UK slang....but I never heard of it before if it is. I googled it and google asked me if I meant definently.....so maybe that's what Jen really meant to type.

Either that...or she was pissed (drunk) & postin.

I'm hoping that they are part of the chain that John mentions - with Stella on the drinks list and fish and chips on the menu I'll be there several times a week for sure.

I'll see if I can find out more information as to whether they are or not. I suspect not as I think the owner is purchasing the place outright rather than going through a franchise.

If this place doesn't pan out to be what you guys are looking for, consider the situation as a oppourtunity for YOU GUYS to set up shop!

There clearly is a market for an English Pub that serves up the standard fare that you like! Lots of red tape tho...that's why I have moved my focus down to Belize.

I'm close to a deal there.....
