Unconfirmed rumors that Bash will be closed Tues, Wed, Thurs as the ceiling needs doing again, following last weeks rainstorms.

For whatever reason, the folks here on CancunCare seem to be far more friendly and mature than those in the FB group. I'm hoping that the majority of the clientele are like the nice people I've met here.

Steve, that's really good to hear about the Sports Bar area. I always enjoyed some good chill time there at that bar to get ready, chill, rested, renewed & refreshed prior to going over to Patyo's and crushing the party. The old Sports Bar is responsible for our friendship with HumperandWoody, too... since her boob attacked my elbow, twice, while we were sat there. Awesome memory.

    Great boob, too...

I just noticed this and I can answer part of it. Other people may have as well.

Pandora does NOT work in Mexico, your phone will simply say something to the tune (pun intended) of "Service Not Available Outside the United States," or whatever (I'm assuming your service is based in the U.S.). However, my SeriusXM Satellite radio app worked just fine, interestingly enough. That's how we played "our" music at DRM and DP. Didn't have the opportunity to try it out at TTR as we weren't there long enough...

So no Satellite XM music stations or Sonic Tap channels on the in-room tv??? No DJ at the pool? I'm just trying to understand why Pandora, Spotify, etc. would be needed.

There was some cool looking Bose radio system that neither our butler nor us could figure out how to work :(

Oh no. I thought the design was odd of the flat roof above. Thinking if the drainage wasn't good there would be a lot of standing water on the roof of Bash. I guess the drainage wasn't good.

    This is above Bash...

I find that a lot gets lost in translation online and misinterpreted. Facebook maybe is more quick fly off the handle type comments?

Most people, even strongly opinionated single guys from New York who seem to know it all despite never having visited TTR , are much more pleasant in person.

Ha still think the people on here are nicer? :)

Just kidding. I know you can take a jab or two every once in a while.

No, didn't take any. It was packed in there anyway, couldn't see much apart from people.

I like wit and satirical humor. I never attack anyone for the sake of a laugh. The latter is just a little too "eighth grade" for my taste. IJS

See! I bet you are much nicer and less judgmental in person than online

But in person I go from my online 8th grade level to only about a 9th grade level so don't expect much :)

    It's a habit from work.

There ARE people who seem to like to try to Lord it over non-members while at the resort (TTR/DRM/DP) and I don't get that. The service at any of them is pretty over the top awesome for everyone, so it matters not really if my towel is red or white.

At TTR (old TTR, no experience with new TTR yet) my main things I noted after being members were:

    1. Our check-in and check-out experience was much smoother and faster than the front desk.
    2. The aforementioned events in #1 were in a completely different room, which was sort of elitist but it DID make it faster.
    3. We had the Members Deck thing, which is where we would start our day, every single TTR day, after it was built.
    4. Those Member Deck bartenders really know their business and they work their asses off.
    5. We got white towels. I guess that's a big deal?
    6. We could get different booze, higher quality. Made sense to me, I paid more than a non-member to be there.
    7. Same thing for dinner menus, there were more options on the menu if you were a member included. Not that I actually ate any of that stuff.
    8. I never once had to go bargain-hunting for my next trip to TTR - I just email in my reservation and it's all handled. Bam!
    9. Old-TTR I would generally get a rate that would beat the best Expedia rate I'd hear about (I'd ask) by about 10%, so that's good. It beat the pants off of full retail. This last is "supposed" to change as TTR pulls itself out of the online travel markets to some extent... but time will tell as to the results/truth of that.

Enjoyed reading the rundown John. I agree with almost everything. What I disagree with is #9. I do admit I have to do some work to find the better rate. But every trip I have been able to find a lower rate than any contract rate I have ever heard (acknowledging I don't know every contract out there) including the ones offered to me directly. I paid $308 for a lush tower room this past trip and got a free upgrade to a master. I can guarantee you are not going to pay $308 for Lush with any contract. And you need to take your total nights and divide by the buy in price and add your discounted nightly rate. I get all the other points and totally agree that you are paying more for those perks and deserve them. I plan to take the tour again in November and will once again do the $ comparison. If they come close to my rates I will buy in but in the past they have been unable to.
