I would like to give a trip report or review for TTR. Before writing this review I do have honest opinions but please take everything I have said before over reacting. I am just trying to give an honest report as this reseort seems to have a lot of misconceptions by new people before they show up, and some reviews I have read seemed to be off based a little. Background: Late 20's early 30's couple like to to have fun not into swinging but game for just about anything else. Dates traveled 19-26 OCT. 19-24 Were great days hott and more hott. 24th there was some off and on rain but didnt ruin the day by any means, just was cloudy, but warm. 25th was an all afternoon rain, kind of bummer day but still in Mexico with free drinks. 26th we left so it didnt matter but rained until we flew out at noon. Overall age group was probably between 35-45 I would say probably about 50% with 25-35 being about 20% and 45-55 being 20% and a few odds and ends on each side. I would also say probably the majority seemed to be couples probably 90% or better. Resort Overall Grade high B almost B+ When I say resort I mean the size, grounds, etc. Make no mistake this is a 3-4 star resort so when I say high B B+ that is taken into account, and when you go 3-4 star you get what you pay for. But the resort was kept up nicely, no trash laying around, things were picked up and maintained pretty well. Resort had something like 300 rooms, so not a huge resort, which is nice because nothing is more than 100-200yds away or 1-2mins tops. There were three pools a sports pool, then two s shaped pools with swim up bars, that were pretty nice. A party/club bar that opened at night as well as a sports bar with TVs and ping pong tables. The hotel is aging and is older but the decor and upkeep is worked at hard to keep a descent face lift on the place, more than just a coat of white paint has been done to keep the place appealing. Beach was probably only about 100yds/m long it was clean some seaweed with marinas on both sides, overall nice view with plenty of chairs out front and by the pools. Out of the two S shaped pools there is a quiet pool, literally thats what is, maybe 15-20 people out there. The other is the sexy pool with games and the bulk of the people. Sexy pool you need to put stuff down by 9am on most days to ensure a chair, but a few days you could have gotten something all the way up to about 11am. As for the room it was nice sized not huge, we had a jacuzzi room. It was clean and kept up every day. AC worked but didnt take the humidity out of air so well, so a little musty smell, and if you have anything thats sensitive to mositure beware. Rooms come with a mini fridge with free Cokes, V8, 1 liter of water as well as two beers at all times. Jacuzzi was great for us, they are on the patio and are all on the first floor. Jacuzzi did take a min to fill up, but worked great and was hot. Also one bonus is there is two adult chanels 12 and 14 on the TV playing Xrated movies, added bonus for some One note on check in, they act as if you have to take some tour, which is basically their pitch to sell you a membership, you get a special place to sit by the pool and beach, and a few different options at dinner, but other than that I dont see the point. Either way we let the girl go on for a few mins as I knew what it was. After about 5 I just said No, she packed up quick and basically kicked us out of her desk, lol. Thats fine I didnt want to waste my time. Food Overall Grade B: If your going strictly for the food or think its cruise quality food then you may think twice. They have a main buffet which does the standard Bfast-Dinner. Then they have 4 restaraunts Chinese, Italian, Tex-Mex, and Seafood. The chinese and Italian places were awesome I would grade them an A, you needed reservations for these and they werent hard to get. The other two were no reservations. The seafood was pretty good I would rate them an A- and the Tex-Mex grill had some good things but overall probably a B. The buffet I would rate it a B. Breakfast was on par with any cruise or resort I have been at, Bfast on trips like these is what is is, they have the standard American Bfast food and an omlette station along with plenty of fruits and breads. Buffet lunch was ok they had some good things and not so good things, burgers and dogs were always available. Main ding was the selection maybe only 8-10 hot items, but they did have a descent amount of salads and such. Fish was really good at the buffet. Some items just werent cooked enough, or just didnt taste the best. Dinner at the buffer was much the same, hit or miss. But you still got something descent enough to eat and were able to move on and party. Desserts wherever they were at were so so at best, a few items were pretty good. Again this is 3-4 star resort you get what you pay for, so our expectations were not high and if I were to compare the food to a cruise or 5 star resort I would probably go almost a C. Drinks Overall B+: All the drinks were very good nothing was gross, but the potentency of the drinks seemed to be lacking specially at the Sexy pool. I actually saw a bartender poor rum into my glass look at it and pour some back into the liquor bottle. Kind of got the feeling with bar tenders if they didnt see tips coming in they were pouring them weaker and skipped over you to tipping customers. Drinks come in about 10-12oz plastic glasses. TIP: Bring your own insulated mug. Beer I think was Corona and Dos Equis. Activities Overall grade A-: The sexy pool usually had two games during the day, they were very fun and entertaining, beware if you cant handle adult humor and anatomy you might want to skip those, but they were great. At night they always had something but the two things you can't miss is the Lingere/Casino night that was a blast, take note women must be in lingere and men in boxers or something similar and no shirt otherwise they dont let you in. Another night was the revelation night or strippers night, that was fun too and you shouldnt miss it. They also had a foam party which was fun. The activity people work hard and really try to have fun with it. One negative I had was the music, did it ruin my trip no. But the music was this constant techno crap and by the pool it seemed to be on a loop day after day. Techno is fine and I know we are trying to keep an upbeat atmosphere, but theres rock, country, rap, pop, etc. that could be mixed in better. Excursions: No grade as they really dont relate to TTR. We went Scuba Diving from a guy at the resort its a full hour dive time. If your not certified its 95 bucks, if you are its like 60. The dive site is about 10mins away. Not the greatest reef, but it was nice, lots of fish. Next was the Boobs Cruise, do not confuse it with any other Booze Cruise and must be booked on this website or you show up that day and join. $75 gets you a catamaran ride out to Isla Muerjas, along the way you stop and snorkel/swim/skinny dip. At the island you stop and eat at a buffet that for an excursion like this was the best food we had ever had. Drinks are included as well at this stop. Usually they go shopping to but our group opted out. Drinks on the boat are included as well, you will never go 30 seconds without a drink in hand, they were good and got people lubed up but not to the point where the masses were passed out after an hour. Trip leaves at 10-1030 and gets back at 1700-1730. Within 5 mins of leaving the dock 98% of the tops were off as well as 2 guys bottoms, within an hour all tops were off. They also played some VERY adult natured games, lol. But was very very fun. If your the least bit prudish stay away, or think you can sit in a corner think twice it only be worse, lol. This is not a swinging voyage so dont worry. OVERALL this trip was an A+++++ and a must do. Misconceptions and Answers: This is not a swingers resort and not for a min did we get that feeling, although we had a few and expect maybe an invite of sort, but nothing different in somebody asking you if you wanted a burger and you told them no, its not a big deal. The resort is topless at the pools and beaches, women must cover up to eat(although see through wasnt frowned on or something you saw a lot of) Bottoms come off they usually told people quickly to change that. While we were I would say at least 50% of the pool was topless with somedays hovering around 70% or more. Thongs werent huge maybe 10-15%, but a lot of women do the brazilian thing with their bottoms which makes that number probably closer to 50%. Now during the pools games guys and girls bottoms did come off, but was only for the duration of the game. As far as adult PDA it was not allowed here and we didnt see it minus a few glimpses from balconies and rooms where shades were not drawn. Im sure people find places and you may stumble across it but not a huge deal. Security was pretty tight there but stayed out of the way and let people have fun, but they did keep the pan handlers out pretty well I thought. In general nobody was made to do anything or high pressured, if you wanted to mind your business you could and if you wanted to participate or meet people you could. The resorts motto was "Nobody knows you and nobody gives a shit." That really rings true. There were multiple couples who seemed quite conservative and after a few days were in the mix like everybody else, or were commenting on how they wish they would have brough lingere for the casino night. There has been a lot of singles questions to be frank I wouldnt do it, unless you are coming with a group. The lone wolf thing just didnt seem to work out. There were a few guys along the way that were nice and all but just seemed like a 5th wheel wherever they went. Also had a few guys that hung around a few times in the group we met and eventually had to be politely shoed away as it was heading in the wrong direction. Personally if your single I think a different resort or cruise would be much better or even a full fledged swinger resort. I dont want to scare you away as you can still have fun and I am sure some singles found a niche, but we just didnt see it. Overall Thoughts: This was probably the best trip we went on ever. The resort and what it is, lets be honest is not the greatest, but the atmosphere and the customers make this place awesome and we would rate it an A. For what you paid I dont think you would find something much better anywhere for fun and an overall Mexico vacation. You could do what you want and have a great time. This is an all adults resort and I wouldnt come here if your looking for a quiet romantic time, its not that, its more of a fun/sexy environment if you can get where I am coming from. We usually like to try different places but I would come back here definitely. If you are a straight up prude I would think otherwise before coming here, if you are conservative but have an open mind, you will probably be ok. Most people will say I am not a prude, well if you have a problem with NC-17 or X rated movies or cant stand swearing and nudity, you are probably a prude at some level, right or wrong and not saying thats a bad thing, just the way it is. If you want to have fun and have an open mind this is a must stay at place.
