We stopped using the ac , because it seemed to affect our throat.

It seems that this year has been the record for many things good and bad from worst winter in years as far as being cold and snow and more people taking vacations to escape the cold weather to more then the average in people getting sick. I normally don't get sick but this year I have had to fight off two chest infections, both times Dr. Has prescribed antibiotics and advair.

we fully enjoyed our first visit April 23-30!! to aid our adventure I also shut a/c off and removed intake filter to totally coat everything with Lysol!! we then kept a/c use to a minimum as the dreaded sore throat in morning started to appear :)

We were there at the end of march and we both came down with chest infections, the AC was either on ice or off. We spoke with a few people with chest congestion by the end of their trips

Mrs got the chest cold and she's hacking uncontrollably as I type this. This is the second time she's gotten this from being at TTR. We never get sick. I am also a bit under the weather but nothing near what she's going through.
Next time Lysol will be packed instead of so many shoes!! -

I'm no party-pooper, but I gotta agree witht he OT's saying that the smoke at Patyo's gets ... dense sometimes. It runs the non-smokers off, and there's a lot of hotness in the non-smoking community.....
I can deal with it OK, but Stacia's asthma just kills her and it's not good. Trying to get your groove on with a nearly naked chick who is hacking up half a lung isn't a turn on... -

We are newbies going in June! I will taking along Lysol wipes, stopping at walmart for Lysol aerosol form & some OTC meds. I think the best advice has been Lysoling the ac intake as it recirculates all the air in your room. And of course wiping down all available surfaces! I will also carry hand sanitizer and hopefully won't get too drunk to remember to use it lol!

OMG I really hope that's not still going around....I barely just over over pneumonia and still not 100%....I do NOT wanna get sick. last year I got the chest infection and nasty sore throat and had to be taken care of in my room for 3 days as I cldnt move, talk, eat or swallow. Sucked. I swear they don't wash those cups so I try and really clean my bubba mug in between drinks.

Ali and I used our insulated mugs in the pool every day and used our own mugs in Paty'o's at night so I don't think the cups had anything to do with us getting sick, we also brought dish soup to clean them out in our room. I got it the 3rd day there so I could've brought it with me, picked it up on the plane... who knows?

we used our own cups too.
another suspicion i have is breathing in the mist off the Cold Jacuzzi in the sexy pool .
Coming from a dry cold climate to a humid one and then inhaling chemical soaked mist with who knows what by-products .....
Any get sick that did not go in the pool ? -

When we stayed at TTR/Desire Cabo, the staff there told us the sore throats were from the chlorine in the ice. They had their own desalination "plant" on site and they added chlorine to it to make sure nobody got sick. The excess chlorine irritated your throat. Nearly everyone had it. Makes sense.
The upper respiratory infection the Mrs got this time and in November surely wasn't from the ice.... If they even do that sort of thing at TTR Cancun.
And we've never gotten this from staying at either Desire resorts, so it's definitely not the weather change..... or the water in the pool.Last edited: May 5, 2014 -

Glad you're ok.

We sat on the step or down wind from the mist , you can see it.
It is only a suspicion,
The CSI team hasn't filed their report yet.
The are using Canadian labs , and will have the results in 3 years.
