Going to the Clubs at night with the Staff

Club prices are running between $40-50 USD. That includes 1 way transportation to the club, bypassing the line, all your drinks while at the club, and being taken to a spot reserved for the Temptation folks.

Once there you're basically on your on in the club and for getting back to the resort. The benefits of going out with the Staff to the club is that you are walking into the bar with anywhere from 40-120 other guests from the resort as opposed to walking in on your own. If you have ever gone to a new bar at home by yourself, you know the feeling and how much walking in with friends makes a difference.

Sometimes the staff stays around for a while stirring things up and sometimes they don't. The night they take people to the club is usually the night before their day off. They usually work 12-14 hours days, 6 days a week so they have to get everything else done on their one day off. If they don't have a lot to do, maybe they can party for a while, otherwise early to bed, early to rise.

There are a couple of other options; one is the Party Hopper Tour (available through the Cancun Tours word link at the bottom of the page and then Night Tours). This runs $65 per person and hits the Congo Bar, Sr. Frogs, and the City all in one night. If you have a limited time and want to see several bars in one night, this might be the route. But you only get a limited time at each bar so if you start having fun you might not want to move on but you have too.

Another option is to go down to the bar zone on your own and hit all the minor clubs. Clubs like Mextreme that is a bar/restaurant, the Congo Bar, Corona Bar, Slices, DOS XX, Ultra, etc. These bars are open air bars that you can see what's going on from the street for the most part. The also have all you can drink prices for about $15 per person. Here you can also pay by the drink too if you want to go that route. If you do this, form your own gang to go with so you have someone walking in with you. Makes it more fun. You might start out for a couple of hours and end up watching the sunrise from your bar stool. :D

    Booking Tours
There are several ways to book Tours at Temptation.

The first way is through the Entertainment Plus link at the bottom of the page. You can book your tours in advance and have the option to change your mind while you are there. Check when making your reservations on the cancelation policies to be in the know but don’t be afraid to look at this option. Prices are as good as or better than you can get there.

The second way would be with the guys from Albatross Tours in the Towel Hut by the Sexy Pool. One good thing about the tours sold here are that if it is at all possible they only take people from Temptation so you get to party with the same folks you’re hanging at out at the pool with.

    Some of Albatross’ tours are:

Isla Mujeres Snorkel Tour – Tuesdays and Thursdays - $59 (plus $5 reef tax and $10 open bar at lunch)
Open Bar on the boat, Snorkeling, Encounter with a shark, Free time on Isla for shopping, Buffet Lunch, Parasail Spinakker, Runs 10 AM to 5 PM.

Temptation Party Cruise (aka Friday Night Booze Cruise) – Fridays - $45
Open bar on board the boat as it sails around the Lagoon for 2 hours, Buffet Dinner at Carlos & Charlie’s with 2 more hours of open bar, and Free admission to The City or transportation back to the hotel.

    Jungle Tour – Daily - $66
Drive speed boats around the jungle and discover an amazing coral reef. 2 ½ hour adventure, includes snorkeling equipment, a bottle of purified water, leaves right from the hotel, goes out daily at 10, 12:30 and 3 PM

Chichen Itza VIP Tour – Thursdays - $79
Trip inland to see the ruins at Chichen Itza. 13 people maximum on the tour, 2 hour ride each way, Guided tour at the Pyramids, Lunch, chance to swim in a cenote. Runs from *;30 Am – 6:30 PM

    Wave Runners - $40 for 30 minutes

    Parasailing – 1 or 2 people at a time - $40

The other ways are with the Travel Agency in the lobby of the hotel or with the Travel Agency you came down with. These are not always the best options as their prices tend to be a little to a lot higher.

Hi Jamie, You posted that at 10:30 they take you to a club everynight. We are virgins to the place. How much do they charge to take you there and instead of doing that everynight would it be better to take the party bus tour to a few clubs in one night. I know some people had mentioned the party tour thing before.

Very useful info, Jamie! I have been searching in vain for exactly what you posted!!

Another question though: What are the themes of the different clubs? Are they disco?, salsa/merengue?, 80s?, top 40?, etc? some of them like C&Cs, Frogs, etc. I already know are not dance clubs, but how about the others? My wife can't get enough salsa/merengue dancing :michaelf: , so I need to fine at least one club like that.

There are two that I know of that would fit your needs. The first is the Mambo Cafe, if it's still there. Haven't heard much about it in a while but it was in Plaza de Americana’s (and I know I spelt that wrong - a little help please).

The other is in the Holiday Inn of all places in the Hotel Zone up behind Bull Dogs. Can't remember the name of the club but great music and a cozier atmosphere then the Mambo Cafe.

While at Temptations just check either with the Entertainment staff or with the Front Desk Concierge - Sally or oh god I forgot her name and she's such a beautiful woman and the name is simple... arrrggghhhh!!!!

Anyway, one of the two of them will be at the desk to the right of the Front Desk if you are facing the front desk. They should be able to hook you up.

    Weekly Agenda

    Jamie,

You must have read my mind. Was waiting til about 3-4 weeks before arrival to ask this question myself in the event schedules change from February to July. Thanks for the update.

Any suggestions on WHO/WHERE to book our tours ? At the resort, thru online provider, etc ? Not sure how different the fees are from one provider to the next. I'd hate to find out I could have paid 25% less by using someone like Cancun valet, for example (...not sure if he offers them) vs booking at the resort.

Still need to square away my transfers also. Think I may book thru the hotel directly like we did last year; TransBeach I believe. Would prefer a private van for 4 on arrival and 2 separate departures. Anyone else have suggestions ?

    FYI

Dress Code is being HEAVILY ENFORCED!!!!!

MEN-Long pants, no shorts, no dress shorts, no swim, no tank tops, no sandals.
Women-No shorts, flip flops, no tank tops.

This is for any place you need a reservation for....we just got back & our group of guys had to go to Walmart to buy Pants!

If you are looking for a good time....go on the Booze Cruise that Temptation does on Friday nights, it's $45 US per person, but it takes you on a 2 hour cruise of Cancun around the bay, then off to Carlos & Charlies for dinner & drinks....its a fun bar/rest. that you can dance & have a great time....then at 11:30 the resort arranges for a bus to pick you up & take you back to the resort if you don't want to pay an extra $25 to go to the City, which is overcrowded & you will have to find your way back to the resort!!! The Boat crew made sure you had plenty to drink & was going around refilling all low drinks...it was GREAT!!! Definately go on this cruise-if you only do one thing you will not be sorry....

    Re: FYI

I personally think the dress code is crazy. Rob hates wearing pants, you would think dress shorts would be allowed, same with sandals, honestly, I take so much stuff there's not enough room to put Rob's dress pants and dress shoes in the suitcases...do they allow dress sandals?

Hopefully they'll relax it a little by the time December rolls around.

    Re: FYI

They allow dress sandals for women...Men on the other hand is "it depends on the rest. mgr's mood" they dont have a specific code, my husband had close toed dress sandals and they told him yes at the Italian rest & NO at the asian one...then a friend of ours had a very SMALL open toe very nice dress sandal & they gave him a very hard time at the Italian rest. they finally let him in after much debat & NO for the asian place too....very crazy nothing is standard or across the board for men...women can practically go in their lingerie & be ok....so stupid....
