Maybe you should read the original comment!!!! We said nothing about pictures in the resort!! We were referring to the no picture policy they had in place for many years but only during certain shows in the Nice Shoes bar. We felt this made more people want to be involved in the games. We were only asking a question to find out if this policy is still in place. If we were concerned with the pictures around the resort we wouldn't be going back for the 3rd time. Read the question before you climb up on your soapbox CAL.

Sorry, I do not believe the “No Photo Policy” is still in effect.

Your original post did ask a question, however it spawn additional 20 comments and was viewed 1068 times (so far). The “soap box” explanation was not an attack on your question or comment. Please read it as a defensive explanation for those people out there that are just reading the post and feel that a “No Picture” rule is going to give them a (false) sense of security. Even when the no picture rule was enforced by the resort, I know that many pictures were still taken by people who spent a lot more on their cameras than I would spend.

I will add, that I did agree and liked the “No Play, No Stay” rule that had been in effect during events. At least that rule put everyone in the same playing field. That rule might be a more reasonable and obtainable goal if enough guests expressed it to management. It would have been pretty obvious when I played “Anything Goes” if I was holding a camera taking pictures.

    Sorry again for any misunderstandings.

    Cal

I know---my opinion is unpopular and poor Cal, even as charismatic as his post was, got in trouble for replying. Sorry Cal--I take the blame for that one. I do realize that the loyal BBG fans are even more loyal to their cameras so the point is moot. I saw an opinion op and I jumped it--just me, silly me. Smile  You're on Candid Camera! teacher, attorney, machinist, IT support, manager, childcare worker, social worker, sales rep, technician, microbiologist, nurse, military, cashier, retiree, administrative support, single parent, did I leave anyone out? See you at Temptations and on the world wide web, as the policy currently stands.

I haven't really weighed in to this point but thought I'd say something. Personally, I feel pictures are part of a vacation. A vacation without a camera is well remembered, but can't be revisited ... anyway.

That said, I do see the point of a no camera rule in certain situations - especially lingerie night or Anything Goes/The Quest. When we went (not sure what's happening now), "Anything Goes" had turned into "The Quest" and The Quest was tuned down quite a bit from what we had heard about anything goes. In our experience of The Quest, you could sit and watch, and yes, take pictures. I think they could easily post a "no cameras" sign at those events, and even put it on the message board (hell, it would probably promote the event better) and that would be fine. We've been to the Grand Lido Braco in Jamaica before and all "au natural" areas have "no cameras" signs at them. The thing we noticed is that if someone participating in "au natural" wanted to get a "in the buff" picture - they would warn folks in advance, so that others could clear the background, then snap snap, and done. No similar rule in the "prude" areas - which, when we were there, were anything but - many women were in just thongs or tiny bikini bottoms and that's it, even though it wasn't the nude side. They should have labeled it "no sausage".

    Back to Tempatations/BBG:

On Lingerie night, the thing we noticed with cameras is that the majority of the photos being taken were by participants of themselves with their friends at the event - rather than "voyeur" pictures of the crowd. There were a few folks, yours truly included, that shot pictures of the line up and judging at the end.

As far as a camera ban at the sexy pool? What would be the point? Anyone in any rooms in the buildings around the pool can just sit up there on the balcony with a long lens and shoot to their heart's content.

My wife and I have had this chat - about her winding up topless on the web somewhere. Her feelings are pretty straightforward:

    - that she's not doing anything wrong or immoral about going topless, therefore, she's not sweating it.
    - If someone wants a picture of a hot topless babe, she's not the one they will be pointing their cameras at. I beg to differ, but hey, that's why we've been married for 21 years! But she says, the ones they will shoot at for that are 20-something and thin and big boobed - not 40 something, curvy, and slightly saggy. She's right I guess.
    - She's gone topless in a bunch of other places where it is acceptable, and there were plenty of people at those places with cameras, so what's the big deal about another place.

You can easily find photos of topless/nude people from the BBG/TTR at all of the photo sites - just do a search of "BBG Cancun" or something like at Flickr, Fotki, Webshots, or just Google Images.

It's just part of the reality of being there.

    Not all of us :D

I haven't taken a camera on my last 4 or 5 trips. The main reason is I felt I wasn't using my camera enough to warrant carrying it around all vacation. Of 4 trips, I took 7 pictures, 2 of which were of police cars in front of the hotel one night.

As some days and nights my memories are a little blurred, I rely on everyone else's pics to remember the details of my holiday.

I had posted a reply to this earlier but it must of been when they were updating the server so it went bye bye. So here it goes again.

I love my pictures and my hubby and I go through them everytime we feel we need to uplift ourselves. I did take some pictures of the BBG version of YMCA and posted them in my pics on picasa, but not before putting butterflies over the boobies and in one case a big leaf over a very miniscule bikini bottom. I figure if anyone wants to see breasts or anything else they need to come to the resort. No free peeks. If everyone treated everyone with respect with pictures there would be no problem. Too bad a few bad ones make it hard for everyone.

Can't wait to get to the resort but I must say that if the wife sees people taking pics of her it will defiantly make her uneasy and put a damper on what she does (and doesn't) wear. She bought something for the casino night and even a tiny bikini (bottom) that I would be soooo bummed if she didn't get to wear.

I think that if anyone tries to take pictures of her without asking first you then have the right to ask them to delete the picture. We need to realize that all people are not comfortable with having their pictures taken. I would hate for someone to make your wife feel uncomfortable about wearing her sexy clothing. This resort is all about feeling free and exploring that freedom. I hope she gets to wear her outfits and feel great about it.

I am also a picture taker and Rosa loves to scrapbook too. We enjoy the pictures to document "our" vacation, I am very cautious about the pictures that I take and really seldom take photos outside of my wife or outside our group or circle of friends, that are revealing or that would make someone uncomfortable. And if I do get a picture like that I usually delete it and certainly never post it. As forGroup pictures or pictures of our friends that are not postable, we have emailed or copied onto a CD and mailed to them.

I have on only one occasion seen someone that I didn't know or none of my friends knew snapping pictures of my wife that concerned me and I spoke with that person about it and they immediately deleted the pictures and seemed to be embarrassed about it as they said they were sorry so no harm no foul.

Rosa loves to relax and let loose while on vacation, BUT she is also sensitive to all the cameras around (she has even made me delete a few of my own pictures over the years) lol. She does not mind our friends taking shots because she trusts them but I think all the cameras do have an impact on her ability to totally relax. So I totally understand Liv's point and her concerns With that said, I am not sure how a camera ban at the pool or on the beach could be enforced, but it could be controlled during some of the "special events" if most guests wanted it, and our only problem with cameras has been at Nice Shoes and not so much at the pool. (Something about hot topless chicks in a cage I guess).

There is some risk of photos turning up somewhere on the net, and the only way to make 100% sure it does not happen is to keep your clothes on, but that would kind of kill a lot of the reasons we go to Temptations in the first place, so we will continue to use good judgement when we take pictures and even better judgement when we post pictures, and keep an eye out for people who aren't playing fairly.

Just my two cents on the subject

Dave, well said. That is basically all I can ask of anyone who is there while we are. This is our first trip here and wife seems to be looking forward to "letting loose". I don't even know if she'll let me have a camera around her. LOL

We have a lot of pictures from our first trip because BBG was so OMG  the first time. But now we just like to relax and rely on our memories until old age wipes them out. I like the whole "got secrets can't leave Cancun" part of vacation. Thus, the Klingon zeal for my beliefs.
