Captain Hook Cancun Pirate Dinner Cruise
Captain Hook Cancun is a full evening of pirate theatre, dinner, drinks and dancing aboard replica Spanish galleons. It is deliberately loud, lively and interactive rather than a quiet sightseeing cruise.

It is the sort of silly, energetic family night that gets children involved without leaving the adults out. Great food, hilarious entertainment and free-flowing drinks have made Captain Hook one trip we have looked forward to time after time.
Choose it for the show and atmosphere. Dinner is part of the entertainment, not the only reason to book.

What happens on Captain Hook Cancun?
The entertainment starts at the marina, before the ship leaves. Costumed pirates welcome passengers, set up the story and bring people into the jokes, games and dancing. A boarding photo is normally taken and offered for sale later.
Once aboard, the national open bar starts and the crew keeps the evening moving. Dinner is served during the cruise, followed by the main staged battle, with cannon effects, sword fights and pirates moving between the galleons. The final stretch back to Cancun turns into more music and dancing.
The show works because it commits fully to being over the top. Join in and it is much more fun; sit back expecting a polished theatre production or a peaceful dinner sail and you may miss the point.

The galleons
El Galeón I, El Bucanero II and the Black Pearl are 93-foot replicas of 18th-century Spanish galleons, built in Spain. The operator lists capacity at 250 passengers per ship.
El Galeón I was used in the Bahamas in 1992 for the reenactment of Christopher Columbus’s landfall at San Salvador. The ships combine that old-galleon appearance with modern sound, lighting and video systems, bathrooms and two air-conditioned dining rooms.
Dinner and drinks
Your selected dinner, a side buffet, dessert and a national open bar are included in the standard experience. The current operator menu ranges from grilled chicken and vegetarian choices to New York steak, lobster tail and surf and turf. Compare the actual choices and price difference in the product listing you select.
The national open bar covers cocktails, mocktails, soft drinks and draft beer. Premium bottles, VIP seating, cakes and transport are separate add-ons where offered.
The food is part of a fast-moving show night rather than a quiet restaurant meal. Pick the dinner you genuinely want, but book Captain Hook for the complete atmosphere.
Tickets, surcharge and kids offer
Ticket prices change with the dinner choice, promotion and seller. Compare the total for the same date and inclusions rather than treating the first headline price as the final bill.
Check the final cost, not just the headline price
The official operator currently adds a mandatory surcharge of US$20 per adult dinner ticket and US$10 per child dinner ticket or child using the kids-free promotion. It is paid before boarding and the operator currently accepts cash or Visa/Mastercard. Check the written product terms before paying in case the amount or payment arrangements change.
The operator’s current kids-free promotion covers children aged 2–11, with up to two children per paying adult. Children using it eat from the children’s buffet and still pay the child surcharge. An additional child needs a paid child-dinner option. Check the selected listing for the exact eligibility, meal and proof-of-age terms.
Is Captain Hook good for children?
Yes, for children who enjoy noise, costumes and joining in. The evening includes face painting, games, a treasure hunt and a staged pirate battle, while the children’s buffet keeps the meal simple.
Children of all ages are accepted with adult supervision, and anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. The cannons, music, strobe lighting and late finish can be a lot for very young or sound-sensitive children, so weigh the full evening rather than only the pirate theme.

Departure, check-in and transport
The current scheduled sailing is 6:30 pm, returning at about 10:00 pm. Be at the marina at least 45 minutes before departure for check-in and the pier introduction. Your confirmation is the final authority for the date, departure point and timing.
Captain Hook currently sails from its marina on Boulevard Kukulcán at Hotel Zone km 5, beside Hotel Grand Oasis Palm Beach. There is a large car park directly beside the marina.
Shared round-trip hotel transport and return-only transport may appear as paid add-ons. Compare the coverage, meeting point and timing in the listing before adding it. The reservation holder should bring the confirmation and the photo ID required by the written booking terms.
What to wear and how comfortable is it?
Wear ordinary dry clothes and secure footwear. The operator does not allow swimsuits, transparent or wet clothing, large bags or suitcases, and there are no lockers at the marina.
The main show takes place outdoors on deck, while dinner is served in air-conditioned rooms. If you are prone to seasickness, plan for a few hours aboard and assess your usual remedy before leaving for the marina.
Boarding a galleon, moving between the outdoor deck and dining rooms, loud sound effects and strobe lighting may not suit every mobility, sensory or medical need. Check the selected product’s current accessibility and assistance terms before paying.
Weather, changes and cancellations
Rain does not automatically cancel Captain Hook. The port authority controls whether ships may sail, and the operator’s current terms say the show can continue with the ship secured at the dock when weather prevents departure.
Bad weather can mean a dockside show
If the activity continues at the dock, the operator’s current terms say there is no automatic refund because the show has not been cancelled. A date change may be available if arranged before boarding. Consider that rule carefully if sailing is central to your decision, and check our Cancun weather guide as your date approaches.
Cancellation and change terms depend on the product and seller you choose. Read the written terms for that exact listing before paying; do not assume a direct-booking policy also applies to a reseller booking.
Is Captain Hook Cancun worth it?
Captain Hook is worth considering when your group wants a whole evening planned for them: dinner, drinks, comedy, games and a pirate battle in one booking. It is especially easy to recommend for families, celebrations and mixed-age groups prepared to join in.
Skip it if you want a quiet sail, an intimate meal or a show that keeps the audience at a distance. For the right group, the noise and nonsense are exactly the attraction.
