Cancun ATV & Zipline Tours

A Cancun ATV and zipline tour takes you away from the beach and into the jungle for a very different sort of day out. Ride a quad bike along rough trails, glide through the trees on a zipline and cool off in a freshwater cenote. These trips combine all three, with transport from Cancun making the journey to the adventure park straightforward.

The important choice is how you want to spend your time. A shorter combination gives you a taste of each activity. A longer outing can add a cavern swim and a more substantial lunch, while another option includes horseback riding. Four hours on the itinerary does not mean four hours driving an ATV.

The tours below offer Cancun pickup, but you need to select the correct departure area and check that your hotel is covered. Outside the pickup zone, you may be assigned a meeting point. For boats, ruins and other days out, compare our Cancun tours.

At a glance

Allow: a generous half day for a shorter combination, or a full day for the longer Riviera Maya outing.
Best for: visitors who want an active jungle trip with several activities in one booking.
Main trade-off: time is divided between riding, ziplines, swimming, transport and waiting for the group.
Check before paying: single or shared ATV, Cancun pickup, driver and passenger rules, weight limits and extras.

Choosing your ATV and zipline tour from Cancun

All three tours include an ATV ride and ziplines, but they visit different adventure parks. For the shorter combination, choose Cancun ATV Adventure, Interactive Bridges, Ziplines and Cenote. If horseback riding appeals, choose Cancun ATV, Zipline, Cenote, Horseback Riding & Tequila Tasting. For a longer day with a limestone cavern swim and buffet lunch, choose ATV Xtreme and Zipline Tour from Cancun. These are the tour titles shown on the booking cards above.

Cancun ATV Adventure, Interactive Bridges, Ziplines and Cenote

This tour is the straightforward choice for trying the three main activities. It visits Extreme Adventuring near Puerto Morelos, with a stop at Cenote Verde Lucero. The food is a snack rather than a buffet, so have breakfast or lunch before collection instead of saving your appetite for a large meal.

Select the Cancun hotel-pickup option, with either a single or shared ATV. This is shared transport, and the transfer can take 30–90 minutes depending on your hotel or meeting point. Personal cameras and phones are prohibited during the adventure activities; photographs are sold separately.

Cancun ATV, Zipline, Cenote, Horseback Riding & Tequila Tasting

This tour adds variety rather than turning the whole outing into a longer quad-bike expedition. The listing allocates 30 minutes to ATVs and 30 minutes to horses, alongside its zipline circuit and open cenote. Choose this because you want the horse ride as well.

Pick the Cancun and Puerto Morelos option for your accommodation area. Collection may be up to 100 minutes before the activity starts, and a central meeting point can replace a hotel pickup outside coverage. The included food is two cochinita pork tacos or a vegan snack and a glass of water.

ATV Xtreme and Zipline Tour from Cancun

This tour combines the ride and ziplines with swimming in a freshwater cavern and a buffet lunch. This is the fuller-day choice, with more travel from Cancun than the Puerto Morelos options. Leave the evening flexible rather than booking a tightly timed dinner straight afterwards.

The listing includes Cancun hotel pickup, a helmet and air-conditioned transport. Basic swimming skills are required. Its optional US$15 collision insurance is an additional charge, so read the vehicle-damage terms when comparing the total cost.

What is an ATV, zipline and cenote day like?

Expect an organized group outing. You check in, receive equipment and instructions, and move between activities with guides. The riding takes place on a set route or circuit. You follow the group’s pace rather than taking a quad off alone to explore the jungle.

Trails can be rocky, dusty, muddy or a mixture of all three. The fun is in the terrain and being outdoors, not simply driving as fast as possible. A compact adventure-park circuit and a longer forest route can feel very different, even when both are sold as an ATV tour.

Ziplining involves putting on a harness and helmet, reaching the platforms and following the guides’ instructions for each crossing. There can be steps, uneven paths and waiting while other people take their turn. A higher cable count does not tell you everything about the experience; the height, length and arrangement of the course matter too.

The cenote is a welcome change of pace after the hot, dusty activities. It may be an open pool reached by steps or a cavern with a very different atmosphere. Follow the swimming route and entry instructions, and check the swimming requirements before choosing your trip. A cenote stop is only part of these outings, rather than a day devoted to several swimming locations.

Single or shared ATV: what are you paying for?

A single ATV gives one person their own quad. A shared or double ATV normally carries a driver and a passenger on one vehicle. If you both want to drive your own quad throughout, choose two single-rider places rather than two places on a shared vehicle.

Read the price unit carefully. The selected tours display their fares per person, including shared-ATV options. A shared fare is not the price for two people together. Enter everyone who is going and compare the final total for the correct option.

Do not assume that sharing means you can swap drivers. Each driver must meet the trip’s driving requirements, and any change depends on the park’s rules. Children who can attend as passengers may be too young to drive, while a teenager permitted to drive with an adult may not qualify for a single ATV.

Cancun pickup and how much time to allow

These parks are outside the Cancun Hotel Zone. The shorter options head towards the Ruta de los Cenotes near Puerto Morelos; the Aventuras Mayas outing travels farther into the Riviera Maya. Your hotel location and the number of collections affect the time spent in the vehicle.

Choose the Cancun transport option before comparing prices. A meeting-point fare, a Riviera Maya departure and a Cancun hotel collection can have different prices on the same listing. Check the accommodation list and read the collection message carefully. The activity’s start time and your pickup time are different things.

For a shared transfer, allow time beyond the headline activity duration. Waiting for the group, equipment fitting, lunch and the return drop-offs all use part of the day. These trips fit best when you can enjoy the activities without watching the clock for your next booking.

Ages, weight limits and participation rules

The three parks have different rules. Extreme Adventuring currently requires drivers to be 18 or older for a single ATV, or 16 or older when accompanied by an adult. Its minimum participation age is four, with a minimum height of one metre. Its ziplines have a 130 kg/286 lb maximum and a 49-inch/1.24-metre waist limit.

Aventuras Mayas lists a minimum driving age of 16 and passenger age of eight. Children aged 8–15 need a double-rider ATV booking. Participants must be under 135 kg/300 lb. Aventuras Mayas also lists a harness-size limit, so confirm the fit before booking. Mayan Jungle Rush lists a 130 kg/286 lb zipline limit and a lower 120 kg/264 lb limit for horseback riding. Check its selected booking’s driver and child requirements before paying.

These are active outings with uneven ground and physical participation. The listings exclude pregnancy and identify restrictions involving back problems, serious heart conditions and other health concerns. Read the exact participation conditions for everyone in your party. Being able to ride as an ATV passenger does not automatically qualify someone for every other activity.

What to bring, camera rules and extra costs

Wear comfortable clothes that can get dirty and secure, closed shoes for riding and the platforms. Bring swimwear, a towel, a change of clothes and a bag for wet things. Water shoes can be useful at the cenote, but they do not necessarily replace the footwear required for the land activities. Our Cancun packing list covers the rest of your holiday.

Bring the identification required for your chosen booking and check whether a driving licence is needed. Read the park’s sunscreen and insect-repellent rules before applying either, particularly for the water activities. Keep unnecessary valuables at your accommodation.

Budget separately for photographs, lockers, extra food and drinks, and any optional vehicle cover. An inclusion called ATV insurance does not describe every excess or damage condition. Check what is covered and what you remain responsible for, rather than assuming all three products have identical terms.

Extreme Adventuring’s camera and phone ban applies during its adventure activities. Do not plan on filming the ride with a handheld phone. Other parks have their own equipment and camera rules, so check the exact listing before bringing an action camera or buying a mount. Professional photo packages are optional purchases.

ATVs, Xplor or a cenote-focused trip?

Choose an ATV combination when riding a quad is a main part of the appeal and you like having several activities organized into one outing. The shorter trips suit a first taste of the jungle; the horseback option adds another activity, while Aventuras Mayas suits visitors happy to spend more of the day away from Cancun.

Xplor is worth comparing if you want a larger adventure-park day with ziplines, underground water activities and amphibious vehicles. Those vehicles are a different experience from riding a quad bike. Check the vehicle type rather than treating every off-road activity as the same thing.

If swimming is what interests you most, compare our Cancun cenotes guide. A trip with more time in the water may suit you better than dividing the day between three or four activities. Whichever you choose, match the day to what you actually want to do, then check the transport and full cost.
