Harry’s Cancun

Harry’s Cancun is a steakhouse and raw bar beside Nichupté Lagoon in the Hotel Zone. Premium beef and seafood are the main attraction, with a waterside setting that makes it a natural option for an anniversary, birthday or a dinner you have set aside a larger budget for.

It belongs to Grupo Anderson’s, the restaurant group behind several well-known Cancun venues. Choose Harry’s when the steakhouse menu is what appeals, rather than simply picking whichever lagoon-side restaurant has an available table.

At a glance

  • Food: premium steaks, seafood and a raw bar.
  • Setting: the lagoon side of Boulevard Kukulcán at Km 14.2.
  • Best for: a steak-focused celebration or a dressed-up dinner for two.
  • Budget: plan for a higher-spend meal, particularly with premium cuts and wine.
  • Before reserving: check the menu, seating choice and any arrangements for your occasion.

Steaks and seafood at Harry’s

The restaurant’s full name, Harry’s Prime Steakhouse & Raw Bar, tells you the starting point. Its current Cancun information highlights Kobe, USDA Prime and Jack’s Creek beef alongside seafood. Those are useful distinctions if you are choosing dinner around a particular cut, rather than just looking for a broad international menu.

Choosing a steak

Compare the cut, weight and listed price together. A premium beef name alone does not tell you how large the serving is or whether it is intended for sharing. Decide whether you want an individual steak or a shared centrepiece, then check which sides are included and which are ordered separately.

You do not need to choose the most expensive beef to make the evening worthwhile. Start with the cut you actually enjoy and leave room in the budget for the rest of the meal. That is a more useful approach than treating the headline premium option as the default order.

Seafood and mixed groups

The seafood and raw-bar side of the menu makes Harry’s worth considering when one diner wants steak and another prefers seafood. Check the current dishes before booking if someone in your party eats neither, rather than assuming that a steakhouse will offer the same choice for everyone.

For drinks, think about the whole table’s order. Cocktails before dinner and a bottle of wine can make a substantial difference to the final bill, even when everyone chooses a fairly straightforward main course.

Lagoon setting and evening atmosphere

Harry’s is on Nichupté Lagoon, not on the Caribbean beach side of the Hotel Zone. The waterfront is part of the reason to choose it, so seating matters. If the view is central to your evening, request a lagoon-facing table when reserving and check whether that request has been confirmed.

It suits a night when you want to dress up and spend time over dinner. That does not mean every table has the same atmosphere. A couple looking for conversation and a larger birthday group may want different seating and timing.

Dinner and the piano bar

Harry’s also advertises a piano-bar offering with live music, cocktails and appetisers. If that is part of your plan, check the programme for your date and whether you need a separate arrangement from dinner. Do not assume that a restaurant reservation automatically includes a particular performance or bar table.

Families are not excluded from the concept: the restaurant advertises a children’s menu. For a meal with younger children, an earlier sitting and a menu check are more useful than assuming that a late evening steakhouse dinner will suit every family.

Budget and what to wear

Think of Harry’s as a special dinner rather than a low-cost meal out. There is no useful single per-person figure without knowing the steak, seafood, drinks and extras you intend to order. A shared premium cut and wine can produce a very different bill from individual mains and soft drinks.

  • Check whether a steak price is for the whole serving or another stated unit.
  • Include starters, sides, drinks and dessert when comparing the likely cost.
  • Check any group-menu price, deposit or minimum spend before confirming a celebration.
  • Read the bill before adding a tip. Our tipping in Cancun advice covers the practical details.

Dress for the evening

Smart evening clothes are a sensible choice for this setting. If your outfit depends on shorts, trainers or other casual items being accepted, check the current dress requirements when reserving.

Where is Harry’s Cancun?

Harry’s is at Boulevard Kukulcán Km 14.2, No. 1, in Cancun’s Hotel Zone, on the lagoon side. Give your driver the Cancun branch and the kilometre marker, especially if you have other Harry’s locations saved on your phone.

From a Hotel Zone hotel, the journey depends on where you are staying along the strip. Do not judge walking distance by the fact that both places have a Hotel Zone address. Check the route before leaving, particularly if you will be returning late in evening clothes.

The restaurant advertises private parking and valet parking. If you are using a taxi, agree the fare before getting in and plan the return as well. Our getting around Cancun advice explains the main transport options.

Harry’s, Porfirio’s or Ilios?

These restaurants share a group connection, but the food gives you a straightforward way to choose. Harry’s has the clearest steakhouse focus. Porfirio’s Cancun is the Mexican-food alternative, while Ilios Cancun centres on Greek and Mediterranean food. If seafood is the main attraction, compare nearby Fred’s Cancun, which also faces the lagoon.

If the occasion is already decided, let the menu narrow the choice. A steak enthusiast has a clear reason to consider Harry’s; someone who specifically wants Mexican cooking has a different reason to choose Porfirio’s. For a group, compare what each person would actually order rather than choosing on the restaurant name alone.

Our best restaurants in Cancun selection puts these alongside other choices around the city. For the relationship between the brands, see the Grupo Anderson’s restaurant guide.

Reservations and practical checks

Reserve ahead if the date, time or seating is important, especially for a celebration. Check these details together so you can arrive ready for the evening:

  • Branch and time: confirm Harry’s Cancun, your party size and the arrival time.
  • Seating: request the lagoon view or preferred area, and check whether it is confirmed.
  • Celebrations: establish cake arrangements, any charge and group conditions before booking.
  • Piano bar: confirm the current programme and any separate reservation.
  • Specific needs: settle essential dietary or step-free access arrangements before committing.

Is Harry’s a good fit for your evening?

Choose Harry’s for a premium steak-and-seafood dinner beside the lagoon, with a budget that allows you to enjoy the meal you actually want. Its strongest reason to be on your shortlist is the steakhouse offering. If you want a different cuisine or a simpler meal out, compare the alternatives before reserving.
