Nicoletta Cancun
Nicoletta Cancun is an Italian restaurant overlooking Nichupté Lagoon in the Hotel Zone. Pasta, pizza and risotto are the main draw, with an upstairs dining room that makes it worth arriving while there is still daylight to enjoy the water view.
It is part of Grupo Anderson’s and suits a dinner for two, a birthday meal or a family evening when you want Italian food outside the hotel. The Cancun branch also has Piccolitos, a children’s activity space, so it deserves a look if you are balancing an adult dinner with younger diners.

What is on the menu at Nicoletta?
The menu gives you several ways to plan dinner. You could share starters and a pizza, order a pasta each or choose fish or meat as a main course. That flexibility is useful when some of your party want a straightforward Italian meal and others want a longer evening with several courses.
Pasta, pizza and risotto
The Cancun menu includes carbonara, lasagna, spicy vodka rigatoni and mushroom-and-truffle pappardelle. Fettuccine Alfredo is prepared at the table in a Grana Padano cheese wheel, which may appeal if you want a little theatre with dinner. Seafood choices include shrimp capellini, lobster-and-shrimp ravioli and saffron seafood risotto.
Pizzas range from Margherita and prosciutto to La Diavoletta, with spicy ’nduja, Italian sausage and hot honey. The names alone do not tell you how rich or spicy a dish will be, so ask before ordering for children or anyone who prefers milder food.
Beyond pasta
There are starters such as eggplant parmigiana, burrata and octopus carpaccio, alongside fish, chicken and steak mains. Check the ingredients rather than assuming an Italian dish is vegetarian: the burrata, for example, is listed with prosciutto. Let the restaurant know about allergies before booking if that affects what your party can eat.
Wine and cocktails can turn a simple pasta dinner into a much bigger bill. Decide whether you want a glass with your meal or a bottle for the table before comparing the likely cost.

The upstairs lagoon setting
Nicoletta’s dining room has arched windows, hanging greenery, patterned blue-and-white walls and views across the lagoon. It is an enclosed restaurant setting rather than a table on the beach. The outlook is towards Nichupté, on the inland side of the Hotel Zone, rather than the Caribbean Sea.
If the view is a large part of the appeal, book before sunset and request a table with a clear outlook when reserving. Arriving after dark gives you the illuminated dining room but less of the surrounding water to see. A request for a window table is worth making early, particularly for a celebration.
For a meal where conversation is the priority, ask about the atmosphere at your chosen time and the most suitable table. Do not choose solely from a photograph of an empty dining room.
Taking children to Nicoletta
Nicoletta Cancun advertises Piccolitos Kids Club, with play and creative activities, painting and a pizza workshop. The children’s menu includes spaghetti Bolognese, chicken Milanese and cheese fingers, giving younger diners alternatives to the full adult menu.
If the club is central to your plans, confirm the age range, supervision arrangements, any charge and which activities are running for your visit. A pizza workshop needs its own timing check; do not assume it will be available whenever you arrive for dinner.
Budget and what to wear
Nicoletta works better as a planned restaurant evening than an inexpensive stop for a slice of pizza. A pasta or pizza with a drink is a different order from seafood starters, steak, a bottle of wine and dessert. Look at the whole table’s likely order before deciding whether it fits your budget.
The Cancun menu lists prices in Mexican pesos and notes a separate table-setting service charge. Ask how that charge applies to your party and include it when estimating the total. Read the bill before adding a tip; our tipping in Cancun advice covers the practicalities.
Dress for an evening meal
Smart casual evening clothes are a sensible choice for this dining room. If you plan to arrive directly from the pool or beach, check the current dress requirements first. That is particularly useful if you are relying on swimwear, beach sandals or very casual clothing being accepted.
Where is Nicoletta Cancun?
Nicoletta is at Boulevard Kukulcán Km 13.5, second floor, on the lagoon side of Cancun’s Hotel Zone. Give your driver both the restaurant name and kilometre marker, and make sure your reservation is for Cancun rather than Nicoletta in Playa del Carmen.
The upstairs location matters if anyone in your party needs step-free access. Confirm the entrance and lift arrangements directly before committing to a booking.
Check the distance from your own hotel rather than assuming anywhere in the Hotel Zone is walkable. For a taxi, agree the fare before setting off and arrange how you will return. Our getting around Cancun advice explains the main transport choices.
Nicoletta or another lagoon restaurant?
Choose the food first. Nicoletta is the Italian option, while Ilios Cancun, at the same Km 13.5 location, focuses on Greek cooking. If your group would rather have a steakhouse dinner, compare Harry’s Cancun. For a meal built around fish, lobster and shellfish, look at Fred’s Cancun.
These are different restaurant choices even though they share a lagoon setting. Our best restaurants in Cancun selection is a useful starting point if you are still deciding on the occasion and cuisine.
Reservations and practical checks
Reserve ahead when the date, view or size of your party matters. Settle the details that could change your evening:
- Branch and table: confirm Cancun, the time, party size and any window-table request.
- Children: check Piccolitos arrangements and workshop timing if you intend to use them.
- Celebrations: agree any cake, decoration or group-menu arrangements and charges.
- Access: confirm how anyone with limited mobility reaches the second-floor dining room.
- Cost: clarify the table-setting charge and any deposit or minimum-spend terms attached to your booking.
Is Nicoletta right for your evening?
Nicoletta is worth considering when you want Italian food and a lagoon view, especially if pasta and pizza suit your group better than a seafood or steakhouse meal. An early reservation makes the most of the setting. Piccolitos adds a useful family option, provided you check its arrangements before building your evening around it.
