Cancun Beach Clubs

A Cancun beach club can turn a day by the sea into a party, with a pool, music and drinks close at hand. But the ticket matters as much as the venue: admission, an open bar and a reserved bed are different things, and a cheap entry price can look rather different once you add the rest.

Mandala Beach and Coco Bongo Beach Party are the two established daytime party options to compare in Cancun’s Hotel Zone. Both are near the Punta Cancun party area, so this is a local outing rather than a trip down to Tulum or across to Isla Mujeres. Neither is the obvious choice if your priority is a quiet stretch of sand.

Choose Mandala for a pool-and-beach day where you can decide how much to spend on food and drinks. Choose Coco Bongo Beach Party if entertainment and a drinks-inclusive package are the attraction. The admission cards below show a Mandala entry ticket and a Coco Bongo premium open-bar pass, so their starting prices cover different things. Transport is separate on both.

Think about what your group will actually use. If you only want a couple of drinks and time by the pool, an admission ticket may suit you. If you want to stay for the party and use an open bar, compare the included drinks and hours before judging the price. A shared plan also helps avoid one person booking an entry ticket while another expects a reserved bed.

Mandala Beach Club: pools, music and the beach

Mandala Beach is the daytime beach club, separate from Mandala’s nightclub. It opens daily from 11am to 5:30pm and has pools, hot tubs and a beachfront setting. Expect a social, music-led day rather than a silent beach retreat.

The General Access ticket covers admission; food and drinks are extra. The Exclusive Pass includes premium drinks. Do not treat those as interchangeable packages, or assume that the ticket buys a particular daybed, villa or bottle-service area.

Complete check-in before noon; after that, reserved spaces are subject to availability. Bring physical ID and the card used for the reservation where required.

Mandala’s daytime dress code is beachwear, with a swimsuit required for the pool. Its separate night pool party has different hours and entry rules. Booking the night event will not give you the daytime beach-club visit described here.

Coco Bongo Beach Party: the daytime entertainment option

Coco Bongo Beach Party brings DJs and a pool party to the seafront, with live entertainment a central part of the experience. It is a different booking from the evening Coco Bongo Cancun show and nightclub. Make sure “Beach Party” appears in the experience you choose.

The Coco Bongo Beach Club Day Party Premium Pass includes access, shows and performances, a premium open bar and snacks. A table, private transport and gratuities are excluded; towels and lockers require a refundable cash deposit.

That makes it a party ticket, not a promise of your own seated area all afternoon. If seating is important, read the chosen upgrade’s inclusions rather than relying on the word “VIP”. Check the actual start and finish times for your date and ticket option; the daytime venue should not be confused with a nightclub package that runs into the early hours.

Tickets, daybeds and minimum spending

There are several ways a beach-club booking can be priced. Admission gets you into the venue. Food-and-drink credit is an amount you can spend from the menu. An open bar covers specified drinks during specified hours. A minimum spend commits you to spend at least a stated amount, often in return for a particular bed or table.

Those arrangements can look similar in a booking screen while producing very different bills. Compare the package name, number of people, included drinks, food, seating and service charges. Also look for towel deposits, locker deposits and whether any credit can be used for everything on the menu.

There is no single minimum-spend figure that applies to both clubs or every area within them. Dates, group size and the space you reserve affect the offer. Keep the confirmation showing your exact inclusions, and settle any unclear seating or spending terms before paying.

Getting to the beach clubs

Both venues are in the Hotel Zone’s Punta Cancun party area. Coco Bongo Beach Party is at Plaza Forum By The Sea, Boulevard Kukulcan km 9.5; Mandala Beach is nearby. Use the beach-club entrance and the address on your voucher, since a familiar brand name may also identify a separate nightclub.

The two admission options shown here have no hotel pickup. If you are staying nearby, walking may be straightforward; from farther along the Hotel Zone or Downtown, allow for the journey along Boulevard Kukulcan. Agree a taxi fare before boarding, or use a suitable Hotel Zone bus and confirm the stop and walking route.

Plan the return as well as arrival, especially if your group is drinking. A club ticket is not a transfer booking. For outings that include more than a local venue visit, compare the options in Cancun Tours.

Planning your day

Who these clubs suit

These are lively party venues. They suit friends and couples who want music, a pool and drinks more than a peaceful beach picnic. The Mandala admission shown here is for ages 18 and over. Do not assume that a daytime event is family-friendly simply because it has a pool; establish the exact event’s age rules before booking for anyone under 18.

For families or anyone wanting a quieter day, our Cancun Beaches guide is a better starting point. Public beach access and paid use of a club’s beds, pool and services are separate matters: you do not need a party ticket simply to plan a beach visit.

What to bring and how to use the water

Bring swimwear, sun protection, your booking confirmation, the required ID and a way to pay for extras. Carry only the valuables you need, and use a locker where one is available rather than leaving everything beside the pool while your group swims. Cash is useful for a refundable deposit when the ticket requires one.

A beach club does not make the sea calm. Follow the beach flags, lifeguards and posted restrictions, and decide whether the conditions suit your swimming ability that day. A pool and the open sea are different environments. Leave swimming until you are sober, and take breaks from the sun with water as well as cocktails.

If you need step-free access, confirm the complete route from the entrance to your intended seating and facilities. The two admission options shown here are not wheelchair accessible.

Common questions

Is Mandala Beach the same as Mandala nightclub?

No. Book Mandala Beach Day for the daytime pool-and-beach visit. The Mandala nightclub and Mandala Beach Night are separate events with their own tickets, hours and dress rules.

Is Coco Bongo Beach Party the evening show?

No. Beach Party is the daytime beachfront experience. For the evening show, use the separate Coco Bongo Cancun nightclub booking.

Are food, drinks and a bed included?

It depends on the package. The two options here deliberately show different offers: Mandala’s starting ticket is admission, while Coco Bongo’s Premium Pass includes an open bar and snacks. A reserved bed or table needs its own explicit inclusion.

Should I go to an Isla Mujeres or Tulum beach club instead?

That is a different day out. An Isla Mujeres club involves the island journey, while Tulum is much farther down the coast. Choose the destination first rather than treating every “Cancun beach club” result as a local Hotel Zone venue. For an island visit, see Isla Mujeres; for a night out in Cancun, see Cancun Nightlife.
