Chichen Itza Private Tours
|
With a faster journey and zero check in time, a private Chichen Itza tour may work out more suitable than the regular Chichen Itza tour if you have a larger group or prefer the personal touch. Additionally, with a private tour you have the option to visit the sites of Ik Kil and/or Ek Balam and/ or stop at the town of Valladolid. You also have the option to choose your own departure time. However, if you wish to include the Chichen Itza light and sound show in the evening, your departure needs to be no earlier than 11am from Cancun.
Located 82 feet below the surface and with a large opening to the sky. Ik Kil is a beautiful blue watered cenote. A swim amongst the clear, cool water at Ik Kil is a great way to take respite from the heat. Buffet lunch included. Additional cost $12. Ek Balam (meaning star jaguar) is another ancient Mayan site on the way to Chichen Itza. This is a newly excavated site with on-going work. Ek Balam was an active city between 100A.D. and 1200 A.D so is almost 2,000 years old! Additional cost $5. The large pyramid at Ek Balam 'The Acropolis' is still climbable today unlike Chichen Itza. You can also ask the driver to take a stop at the town of Valldolid if you like, a picturesque town with beautiful church and park. Buy a few snacks, take some pics and stock up on water!
