Xel Ha Optional Activities

Xel Ha includes many things to do from the entrance price alone but to enjoy all Xel Ha has to offer then you can also consider the optional activities available.

The activities listed below are subject to additional charges and all but the dolphin swim have to be arranged on the day.

Swim with Dolphins:

Two different programs are available. It is strongly recommended that these are booked in advance. The typical ratio is 4 persons to each dolphin, if you try and book this on arrival at Xel Ha you may find there are no spare spaces for the day particularly during peak season. You should especially consider reserving in advance if you decide to take the Xel Ha / Tulum combo tour because the morning will be spent at Tulum and arriving to Xel Ha at lunchtime means it's unlikely there'll be any spaces left for the dolphin swim. Snuba:

Snuba is something different. It's a hybrid of snorkeling and scuba. Combining the the ease of snorkeling with the technology of scuba. Diving without a tank, your airline is permanently fixed to a surface based floating raft. Fins, mask and a lead belt provides neutral buoyancy making this activity ideal for those who love to snorkel but are not quite ready to try a scuba dive yet. Following 15 minutes of instruction you'll spend 45 minutes exploring the reef.

Sea Trek:

Diving for the non-swimmer, yes really! walk the seabed without even getting your hair wet! Suitable for kids over the age of ten all you need is a swimsuit and you're provided with a special helmet which allows you to breathe normally underwater. The motorcycle style helmet has air pumped into it continually so there's not even a mouthpiece to worry about. The guided tour takes you to the reef to view and feed the colorful marine life in total safety. Xel Ha is one of the few places in the World where you can do this, so don't miss it.

Aquaventura:

There's plenty of snorkeling included in the price of your tour but if you prefer to have a guide and who can show you the best places not accessible to non tour participants then an aquaventura tour might be right up your street. Groups are no larger than 8 per guide and are split into groups based on proficiency. So whether you're a beginner, intermediate or advanced the experienced guides will lead you to the best places to snorkel that Xcaret has to offer. Leaving every half hour with an hours duration the aquaventure is suitable for kids aged 8 and over.

Spa:

Spa Esalem offers a variety of relaxing massages based on a technique that combines music, crystal and aroma therapy, along with reflexology, Reiki and Shiatsu. Massages can be between 15 minutes and an hour and can be taken either seated or prone on the massage table.

All above activities do of course depend on weather conditions. It is advisable that you book immediately on entering the park to ensure space is available as limited numbers are available and these fill up fast.
